It's an "artists rendering" of a possible design for a blended wing body passenger liner. Very efficient but requiring huge changes to airport infrastructure. I believe it is a Boeing concept.
Here's a scale experiment they are working on now. http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2007/05/21/213997/boeing-works-with-airlines-on-commercial-blended-wing-body.html
Looks like one of the Blended Wing Body (BWB) very large transport/passenger aircraft that McDonnell/Douglas and now Boeing have proposed to replace existing large aircraft like the Boeing 747 and Airbus 380.
Except for pictures and some proof-of-concept scale models, none have actually flown yet.

Yeah, what is it?
They look like something from the old TV show, "SPACE:1999".
Martin Landau and Barbara Bain at their best after Mission Impossible.
So, um, what is it?
