Those boys are to be commended!
When we had a hurricane, a general went and told the honor guard, to abandon their post in front of the tomb of the unknown soldier, The guard refused to leave his post.
These are MEN.
Amazing and True... the way it should be!
(I do hope somebody got the guy's hat for him.)
Commendable, but have they ever been on the fo'c'sle of a Type 42 Destroyer going alongside ODESSA (UKR)in an early morning snow storm with a wind chill factor of minus 27 degs C ??? (HMS Birmingham 1997) Fuckin' freezing !! Different circumstances though, we were looking fwd to a run ashore with loads of cheap vodka and beautiful women. Not burying our dead....
The Yanks do this stuff well. Sadly they are getting too much practice.
By the way, they're USAF.
"Sadly they are getting too much practice."
Better we get some practice now instead of getting a full 9 innings later.
