Harry Patch, Britain's last survivor of the trenches of World War I, died today at 111. Patch was wounded in 1917 in the Battle of Passchendaele, which he remembered as "mud, mud and more mud mixed together with blood."
"Anyone who tells you that in the trenches they weren't scared, he's a damned liar: you were scared all the time," Patch said.
This man has witnessed horrors of war the likes of which today's warrior generation can barely imagine.

NEW YORK - An American man charged with giving Al Qaeda information on the New York transit system and attacking a U.S. military base in Afghanistan has been a secret witness in the fight against terror both here and overseas, authorities revealed Wednesday.
Bryant Neal Vinas, a.k.a. "Ibrahim" or "Bashir al-Ameriki," grew up on Long Island. Vinas received "military-style training" from Al Qaeda, and was captured in Pakistan after participating in a rocket attack on U.S. forces in Afghanistan in September 2008.

LETTER FROM THE BOSS:
As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.
To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%.. But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead.
This has really been bothering me, since I believe we are family here and I didn’t know how to choose who would have to go.
So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty ‘Obama’ bumper stickers on our employees’ cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can’t think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change, I gave it to them.
I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic..

There wasn't much attention paid to the 'new' record set the week of 6/22 when the US sold a record $104 billion in notes and bonds (debt). It must have been too puny a number to catch the attention of the MSM, and besides there was important stuff happening...Prancing With the Stars, or American Idiot, or this Michael somebody, or whatever.
Well, here is a NEW 'new' record for you! 7/24 the USG will try to auction off $115 billion of notes and bonds (debt). The most ever (so far).
The USG selling its debt is nothing new, what is 'new' are the staggering amounts of debt Uncle Sammy is trying to lay off....er, sell, and the accelerated pace he's trying to do this at.
- The USG has more than DOUBLED note and bond offerings in the first half of 2009, and is looking at trying to sell another $1.1 trillion by the end of 2009.
To quote one bond market pundit: "That's a LOT of paper!"
What if they cannot sell all this debt? No problemo! The FED will buy it! Foreign Central Banks have indeed been trimming their purchases of US debt, but check this idea out.
How crazy is this?
BORROW THE MONEY WE DON'T HAVE FROM OURSELVES!!!!!!!
- The FED purchases the debt from the Treasury. No problem.....right? The FED currently holds (week ending 7/8) $1.33 trillion of this paper. Not exactly IOU's as Kali-foh-niya uses them but more along the lines of "I Owe Me" (IOM). Much sounder fiscal policy, that ["I promise to pay myself back someday." WARNING: Do not try this at home!].
There are actually stacks and stacks of these I-Owe-Me papers floating around our government, the concept having worked so well in past for useful things like taking actual cash from the (former) Social Security Trust in exchange for these 'promises' (thanks to the Capitol Hill Clown Posse).
- Voila! Cash disappears. I promise to pay you back someday notes appear. It's simply magical, I tell ya! Boy, those politicians are SMART!

Outsourcing POTUS.....from Rico
IF we ran government the way we run business, THIS would be a great idea!
Sadly, we do NOT run government in a business-like way...it's more of a goat-rope supervised by retards.
AND...we've already outsourced the Presidency with Barack Hussein Obama, just have done it in typical government style where it costs us more than it benefits us.

Congress today announced that the office of President of the United States of America will be outsourced to India as of September 1, 2009.
The move is being made in order to save the President's $500,000 yearly salary, and also a record $750 billion in deficit expenditures and related overhead that his office has incurred during the last 3 months.
It is anticipated that $7 trillion can be saved to the end of the President's term. "We believe this is a wise financial move. The cost savings are huge," stated Congressman Thomas Reynolds (R-WA). "We cannot remain competitive on the world stage with the current level of cash outlay," Reynolds noted.
Obama was informed by email this morning of his termination. Preparations for the job move have been underway for some time.
Gurvinder Singh, a tele-technician for Indus Teleservices, Mumbai India , will assume the office of President as of September 1, 2009. Mr. Singh was born in the United States while his Indian parents were vacationing at Niagara Falls, NY . Thus making him eligible for the position. He will receive a salary of $320 (USD) a month, but no health coverage or other benefits.
It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job responsibilities without a support staff. Due to the time difference between the US and India , he will be working primarily at night. "Working nights will allow me to keep my day job at the Dell Computer call center," stated Mr. Singh in an exclusive interview.
"I am excited about this position. I always hoped I would be President."
A Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be fully aware of all the issues involved in the office of President, this should not be a problem as Obama had never been familiar with the issues either.
Mr. Singh will rely upon a script tree that will enable him to respond effectively to most topics of concern. Using these canned responses, he can address common concerns without having to understand the underlying issue at all. "We know these scripting tools work," stated the spokesperson.
"Obama has used them successfully for years, with the result that some people actually thought he knew what he was talking about."
Obama will receive health coverage, expenses, and salary until his final day of employment. Following a two-week waiting period, he will be eligible for $140 a week unemployment for 26 weeks. Unfortunately he will not be eligible for Medicaid, as his unemployment benefits will exceed the allowed limit.
Obama has been provided with the outplacement services of Manpower, Inc. to help him write a resume and prepare for his upcoming job transition. According to Manpower, Obama may have difficulties in securing a new position due to a lack of any successful work experience during his lifetime.
A greeter position at WalMart was suggested due to Obama's extensive experience at shaking hands, as well as his special smile.

UPDATE
Since I updated last week’s post about the captured American soldier depicted in the Taliban video - identified as PFC Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey, Idaho, member of 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment – I received some interesting comments from various sites.

Employee Placement...
Does your organization struggle with the problem of properly fitting people to jobs?
Here is a handy hint for ensuring success in job placement.
Take the prospective employees you are trying to place and put them in a room with only a table and two chairs.
Leave them alone for two hours, without any instruction.
At the end of that time, go back and see what they are doing.
- If they have taken the table apart in that time, put them in Engineering.
- If they are counting the butts in the ashtray, assign them to Finance.
- If they are screaming and waving their arms, send them off to Manufacturing.
- If they are talking to the chairs, Personnel is a good spot for them.
- If they are writing up the experience, send them to Tech Pubs.
- If they don't even look up when you enter the room, assign them to Security.
- If they try to tell you it's not as bad as it looks, send them to Marketing.
- If they've left early, put them in Sales.
- And if they're all bullying each other, they're Management material.

Rights: what is one what isn't?
I'd like to clarify something that some people seemed to be confused about.
Health care is not a right. (Neither is education, or food, or housing, or a job.)
How can I be so sure?
Anything that requires the labor of someone else cannot be a universal human right.
Our Constitutional, Natural Law rights require only that others leave us alone. They require no labor, action, payment, participation or sacrifice of anyone else on our behalf.
We have the right to NOT be interfered with when we speak, practice religion, gather, or bear arms. We have the right NOT to be imprisoned without due-process, to be searched without cause, to be made to testify against ourselves.
