North American readers of this site maybe aware of a little difficulty the BBC encountered the other evening, when they allowed the leader of the BNP, an ultra-right, sorry, ultra left-wing party on to the well known BBC political show, Question Time. Here, Jonathan Gabay, author of Soul Traders explains at the Business and Politics blog how this political party is trying to ditch it's "neo-nazi" past.

Tsuji Masanobu ( 辻政信 ) Modern-day Samurai, Member of Parliament, War Criminal.

I first heard of this notorious Japanese warrior at a party many years ago, at a friend's house in Washington DC. Notorious in his native Japan, if he did half of what he is reputed to have done, then his place is secured at the Viking Long Table in the Mead Hall of Valhalla. - S.L.

Tsuji Masanobu was a professional soldier the Imperial Army during the Second World War. An extreme fanatic by even Japanese Army standards, his aggressive and insubordinate attitude contributed to the Soviet-Japanese Border Wars of the 1930's, particularly the Changkufeng Incident/Battle of Lake Khasan and the Nomonhan Incident/Battle of Khalkhin Gol.

Tsuji Masanobu went MIA - Missing In Action - in Laos in 1961.

I posted the Saga of Tsuji Masanobu as part of a larger story concerning Japanese military involvement in Southeast Asia in the aftermath of World War II, to be posted later this weekend.

Hang Up and Drive ........... from PeterGunn

The Honda crotch rocket rider was traveling at approximately 85 mph. The VW driver was talking on a cell phone when she pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the motorcycle. The riders reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Both drivers both made stupid decisions -- their last.

The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department.

Pass this on to car drivers or soon to be new drivers, or new motorcycle owners

AND ESPECIALLY EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO HAS A CELL PHONE!!!!!

Scuba divers recognize the flag/signal "diver down" ...but it seems that as the consumer gets creamed by shrinking credit, a shrinking dollar, and increasing unemployment...the cheerleaders of team Obama (MSNBC, et al) consistently ignore the fact that the FED has to 'buy" USG debt that no one else in the world wants.

Look at these charts. They are the polar opposite of 'green shoots' or 'recovery' or anything you hear in the media.

Bear attack 2009

Apparently a bear attacked his plane while parked in a remote field up here in AK. He had not cleaned out the inside after a long fishing trip and the bear smelled it.
He had 2 new tires, 3 cases of Duct Tape and several rolls of cellophane delivered. Then went about repairing the plane so he could fly it home.
Gutsy to say the least.

To most people, it sure LOOKS like the DJIA is kicking ass. BUT, it isn't so.

Setting aside the question of the huge amounts of funny money being printed by the Fed being the real cause for the equity markets moving upward, there is a little 'trick' or 'game' our government is playing on us...and it usually works, because the average Joe cannot figure out currency exchange rates and doesn't have a clue what a 'shrinking' dollar means.

Our drunken sailor spendthrift Uncle Sammy counts on this, and why not? It's always worked for him in the past.
- This is SO slick! While people 'think' they are kicking ass, they are the ones getting...er, kicked in the ass instead.

The drop in the value/purchasing power of the dollar 'inflates' the apparent value of the DJIA. If you are using Euros or most other currencies, you're not really seeing this market rally as being quite as LARGE as it seems in dollars. Respectable, but not as valuable as it seems using funny money to denominate it.
- Bear in mind that as the Zimbabwe dollar collapsed, the Zimbabwe stock market appeared to simultaneously skyrocket. Now both the Z$ and the Z-market are worthless. I have a 100-trillion Z$ note on my wall as a reminder of this...pretty engraving and ink, but worthless save as a reminder of what idiotic governmental ecoonomic policy (guided by experts that are "too smart to be right") can do for you.

Gay Wilkinson has just been made the patron saint of my own site Hitting Metal With a Hammer, with good cause!

What he does doesn't please everyone, but those sort of people don't come here except to be outraged. Bet you don't get much windage on that puppy.

I have this sudden urge to rent Sweet Home Alabama again...
