NORKORCOM NUCLEAR TEST..............by Stormbringer
The question has been posed - "Is there a military option?"
There is always a military option. The question is not "Is there a military option?" Rather, the question is "Can we afford the price?"
Unfortunately, the primo window of opportunity to have launched an attack would have been BEFORE 9/11.
The fact remains we could still launch an attack on North Korea, although our resources are stretched mighty thin. Options include anything from commando raids - which are difficult to plan & coordinate - to air strikes, to full scale conventional military invasion - up to and including missile attacks.
Planning considerations must include the fact that the North Korean military is a fanatic organization that makes the Waffen SS look like Boy Scouts. They will fight to the bloody end. To complicate matters, the entire country........continue reading

WE ASK ONLY.............
We stood quietly on the tarmac
As his plane rolled to a stop
With tear filled eyes we waited
For the tail to begin to drop
Six young men in uniform
Stood by his flag draped box
My insides began to tighten
As if filled with rocks
Like poetry set in motion
Was every move they made
Together they lifted Tommy
I bowed my head and prayed
The slow walk they began
Then gently loaded him into the hearse
With clinched fists I stood there
How I felt the need to curse
A young soldier with extended hand
Then led me to the side
He said, Sir I was there with him
That night that Tommy died
Sir, I feel you should have this
He was writing it that night
Slid a blood stained paper into my hand
And walked on out of sight
With shaking hands I unfolded it
His words I began to read
My tears falling like raindrops
With each word I did heed
Dear Lord, he said, I write these words
Knowing they could be my very last
The shells are getting closer
With each and every blast
Still I feel the need I must write
While kneeling in this sand
We’ve come here for a mission
One to protect this very land
Lord, I know back home are many
Who say this war just shouldn’t be
For that I ask you to forgive them
Please Lord, hear me as I plea
You see Sir I’m just a soldier
I must answer when they call
Like so many men and women before me
Our job is never small
Sir, as soldiers we don’t start war
Our job is to defend
We fight each day for Freedom
And will Sir… till the end
It’s because of the many like us
Who have travelled along this way
That those that shout the loudest
Have rights to what they say
Lord, as with all conflicts past
This one seems to be the same
There are those who just don’t understand
This fight is not a game
Many brave men and women give up life
In this fight to keep man free
I ask Dear Lord, you stay here with us
Dear Lord, please hear my plea
And Lord, I ask one last favor
Then I’ll put away my pen
We ask only, our Country love us… as we love her
In Jesus’ name… Amen!!!

News....
North Korea conducts nuclear test. What next? Swine flu could work.
The £6.2m bill: Scandal of how MPs are taking taxpayers for a ride with extortionate travel expenses. How many will survive the election?
Another bank holiday, another traveller invasion: The diggers roll in as council officials start their break. They must be moved.
RAF officers at risk of blackmail after files detailing drug abuse and use of prostitutes is stolen. Another security balls up.
Speculators blamed as petrol price rises over £1 a litre. The bloody city again.
So watt's a lumen? The EU's bright idea to rename light bulbs. More unwanted interference.
Can you name these common trees? What do they teach in schools these days?
New York bans cars from Times Square. Good idea. Would also work in parts of central London.
US: Iran could have nuclear bomb in one year. Even quicker if North Korea gives them one. Although one isn't a problem they have to 'test' it to prove it works. When they have 2 or 3 things get serious.
Commandos make record drug seizure in Afghanistan. Nice one.
Parliament Square 'may become shanty town' as Tamils prepare to stay. Move them.
Japan's big guns prepare to rejoin global arms industry. A Pacific arms race, haven't we been there before.
Hugo Chávez tightens noose on critical news channel in Venezuela. He can't control the internet.
Iran bans Facebook ahead of election. Iran has 800,000 bloggers and they can't silence them all.
and finally....
Bad weather and bang sticks birthday weekend.

Memorial Day 2009......
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN who salutes the Flag,
It is the VETERANwho serves under the Flag,
ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

Can tea parties learn from UK MP cull?
I have a piece up over at PJM about the on-going cull of MPs who have been playing the expenses system. The result of the Telegraph's exposure of the goings on has been swift and is still happening. Americans sick of trough-loving incumbents will be looking at the swiftness of culling with envy.

BBQ RULES..........
We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity . When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:
Routine....
(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.
(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman.
Here comes the important part:
(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.
More routine...
(6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat.
Important again:
(8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
More routine...
(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings
them to the table.
(10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
And most important of all:
(11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.
(12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ', and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing
some women.

The FED, this'll make you feel better...............from Rico
That entity we know as the FED. What does anyone really know about it?
It is neither Federal, nor Reserve. It is a specially chartered PRIVATE BANK whose primary function is not to hold money in reserve...but to print it.
- The Fed is not truly a Government agency.
- No one knows exactly who owns the Fed.
- The Fed is a secretive financial institution which can not be audited by Congress, The President, or anyone with a paygrade below that of the Almighty.
There now, I'll bet you feel all better now, right? I know I do.
