NRA Unveils Three New NRA News Commentators

NRA News announced today that it has added three new faces to its growing NRA News Commentators team. Chris Cheng, Gabby Franco and Nikki Turpeaux will contribute fresh voices to topics and issues surrounding the Second Amendment.

Chris Cheng grew up around firearms, but only emerged onto the shooting sports scene after winning History Channel’s Top Shot season 4 in 2012. Soon after, Chris left his job at Google to compete full time on the Bass Pro Shops team in USPSA, IDPA and 3-gun. While firearms play a large role in Chris’ life, he has a very diverse background and set of interests. Chris majored in Political Science from UCLA, is fluent in Spanish and is an accomplished double bass player. He serves on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Opera BRAVO! Club and is a volunteer baritone singer for the San Francisco Symphony.

At the age of 19, Venezuelan native Gabby Franco was the first female to qualify for the Venezuelan Olympic Shooting Team, representing her country at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 2002, Gabby left her family to move to the United States. She didn’t know anyone nor did she speak English, but to her, the move represented the opportunity for a successful future. Gabby is passionate about her Second Amendment freedoms, after seeing first-hand what happens in a country where they are taken away. Gabby is an NRA certified instructor, a former Top Shot contestant and an active competitor in USPSA.

A Texas native and former Miss Houston, Nikki Turpeaux found firearms later in life. After years spent in the corporate world, she left to pursue personal safety training and is now the owner and chief executive officer of Archangel Tactical, LLC, and founder of the Get a GRIP® Personal Defense & Firearms Training Program. Nikki is an NRA certified instructor who lives in Atlanta and spends her time instructing, speaking in public and educating women to take personal safety into their own hands.

Gabby’s first episode kicks off a new spring season of NRA News Commentators. View the episode below. Chris and Nikki’s introductory profiles, can now be viewed on the Commentators page of NRA News: www.nranews.com/commentators.
