Video: Battle of Britain Bomber Crew 06.07.10
Tales of heroism and bravery brought back the past at an RAF base today as Lancaster bomber veterans were reunited with the aircraft for what will probably be the last time. The eight veterans, who would have made up a full crew on the bomber, met at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire thanks to the RAF Association.

Grassroots conundrum: "party unity" or principles?
Tea parties across the US are starting to learn the realities of political life after the primaries. In this grassroots conundrum they have to suffer the sight of their tea party favorites appearing with many of the politicians that they set out to cull. Now that these candidates have gotten the nomination they become part of the party “establishment” and business as usual returns.

You Know You're From A Small Town When.
• The local phone book has only one yellow page.
• Third Street is on the edge of town.
• The “road hog” in front of you on Main Street is a farmer’s combine.
• You leave your jacket on the back of the chair in the cafe, and when you go back the next day, it’s still there on the same chair.
• You don’t signal turns because everyone knows where you’re going, anyway.
• No social events can be scheduled when the school gym floor is being varnished.
• You call a wrong number and they supply you with the correct one.
• Everyone knows all the news before it’s published; they just read the hometown paper to see whether the publisher got it right.
• The McDonalds only has one golden arch.
• A “Night on the Town” takes only 11 minutes.
• You have to name six surrounding towns to explain to people where you’re from.
• Headline news is who grew the biggest vegetable this year.
• You can name everyone you graduated with.
• School gets cancelled for state sporting events.
• Anyone you want can be found at either the Dairy Queen or the feed store.
• Directions are given out using the stop light as reference.
• It was cool to date someone from the neighboring town.

Bang!...............from Rico
2,053 nuclear detonations from first one to 1998. No kidding! I did not know there were that many...
And the "media" is wetting it's collective depends at the mere 'idea' of using a small nuke to stop the Deep Horizon oil spill in the Gulf...lke we've never had a nuclear explosion before....or several thousand of them...which did not exactly cause the end of the world as we know it, did it?
Build it, and they will use it.

Anniversary of the Raid on Entebbe
Operation Thunderbolt, the raid on Entebbe was a hostage-rescue mission carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at Entebbe Airport in Uganda on July 4, 1976. A week earlier, on June 27, an Air France plane with 300 passengers was hijacked by Arab and German terrorists and flown to Entebbe, near Kampala, the capital of Uganda. Shortly after landing, all non-Jewish passengers were released.
Several movies were made about the mission
The IDF acted on intelligence provided by the Israeli agency for intelligence, the Mossad. In the wake of the hijacking by members of the militant organizations Revolutionary Cells and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, along with the hijackers' threats to kill the hostages if their prisoner release demands were not met, the rescue operation was planned. These plans included preparation for armed resistance from Ugandan military troops.
The operation took place under cover of darkness, as Israeli transport planes carried 100 IDF commandos over 2,500 miles (4,000 km) to Uganda for the rescue operation. The operation, which took a week of planning, was carried out in 90 minutes and...

Half...........from Rico
It is not just 'budgets' that are getting cut.
The "smart" money...at least the "serious" money is cutting their exposure/risk to the economy.
Barton Biggs, the guy who runs Traxis Partners, a $1.4 billion fund sold HALF his stock investments last week. Half.
- He is worried about a further 'dip' in the economy and wants to cut his exposure and risk at this time.
- He...and many others...are busy raising CASH and not putting any money into anything.
This can also be seen as a perfectly rational response to today's prevailing Marxist-collectivist agenda. Private property and wealth is NOT safe from Communists!
- Redistribute your own money, before they do it for you!
