24 Signs Of Maturity..............
1. Your house plants are alive, and you can’t smoke any of them.
2. Having sex in a single bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song on an elevator.
6. You watch the Weather Channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of hook up and break up.
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as “dressed up.”
10. You’re the one calling the police because those damn kids next door won’t turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12. You don’t know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your payments go up.
14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonalds leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
16. You no longer take naps from noon to 6 PM.
17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one.
18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach.
19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer “pretty good stuff.”
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. “I just can’t drink the way I used to,” replaces, “I’m never going to drink that much again.”
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
24. You no longer drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that this doesn’t apply to you.

TAX the RICH!................from Rico
Yeah! Tax the rich! They're not paying their "fair" share!!
Well, that's what our politicians and the media pound into the heads of anyone foolish enough to not "mute" the volume when their lips are moving.
Our "progressive" tax system is NOT RIGHT, NOT FAIR, and NOT AMERICAN.
When slightly over one million people pay more in taxes than 134 million people combined(phrased another way, the top 1% have a tax burden that exceeds the bottom 95%) it explains how the ignorati [read: voters] have been turned into a cargo-cult sitting on their asses waiting for the magic appearance of their "free" goodies from government.
OR
Look at it this way. There are NOT that many "rich" people and the tax-spenders will soon be going after the average people (because that is where the most money is accumulated)...the average tax payers...to be able to continue 'spreading the wealth' to the tax eaters. [translation: no matter what is said, our taxes are going to GO UP!!!]

Comes the Joker

"Liberals" are almost always the people who believe in hugging trees, saving whales, and no more war. At the same time, they don't seem very inclined to engage in actual thinking. It's so easy to be nice; so hard to be real. That's a "liberal." And now the price of nice: Power in this country goes to the faceless cyphers who produce the best ads. The name out front is a soup can, not a man. We are consumers, not citizens.
Yes, I Know.

In absentia, in memorium.......from Rico
When I am not busy 'missing' the America I remember so well, knew and loved so unreservedly, I do often take the time to 'miss' that noble old lion Britain...as it ONCE was. Sigh.
Both now seemingly 'gone' (ref. the in absentia, in memorium subj. line).
Damn and blast the communists-socialists!
YOU! All free men!
Bloodied and out of ammunition, but unbowed?...form a square and fix bayonets!

The Marine Drill Sergeant noticed a new recruit and barked at him, 'Get your rear over here !
What's your name?"
"Paul," the new recruit replied.
"Look, I don't know what kind of bleeding-heart pansy wansy they're teaching in boot camp today, but I don't call anyone by his first name," the sergeant scowled. "It breeds familiarity, and that leads to a breakdown in authority. I refer to my recruits by their last names only --- Smith, Jones, Baker. I am to be referred to only as 'Sergeant.' Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, sir, Sergeant!"
"Now that we've got that straight, what's your last name?"
The recruit sighed "Darling, My name is Paul Darling."
"Okay, Paul, here's what I want you to do ....."

Starting today, Monday, July 27, 2009 you can follow the competition and cast your vote at BoringvsNormal.com. Watch as a bit of friendly competition emerges between two seemingly regular towns as they compete to go from “Boring” or “Normal” to exciting.
In connection to the competition, Toshiba has released several videos which gives a playful homage to what we normally find boring and normal.

Blogpost: The Idiocy Of The Media, Fed And Government
Let's cut the crap here and now and talk macro economics and debt.
I'm going to go back to this chart again: continue reading
H/T Jeff H who writes 'Very simply the easiest explanation for what is going on with the markets, employment and the macro-economy as a whole.
Karl Denninger is very interesting, I recommend his blog as a weekly read...'
