Notable, Quotable and Regrettable..........by Dan Friedman
“The Israeli flag is the symbol of the House of David, a lad who built a nation by standing up to Goliath. To be worthy of the flag, is to be worthy of the act. Israel survived by standing up to the armies of Islam. Not willingly, but reluctantly. After all other options had been exhausted. Now it faces a political war in which all the diplomatic options will never be exhausted, until its enemies overreach themselves with a full invasion. And by then Israel may no longer be capable of defending itself.”
-- Daniel Greenfield writing today in his blog Sultan Knish

Where is Canada?.......from Rico
My first thought when I saw this graph was "where are the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada?"
Then I remembered that most unfortunate fellow Gordon Brown. Well that explains what happened there.
But Australia and Canada?
- Maybe the Aussies are selling all their gold to the Chinese as fast as they can mine it. Well, then, 'good on 'ya mate' I sez.
But Canada. Where is Canada?
- I'll have to look into this.....

Blogging's been down a bit. I've got a video of Irina Shayk, from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition 2011.
And as a side note, this was in the Daily Mail, "Kung Fu Fighting Composer Rejects Allegations of RAAAAACISM!!"
And don't miss Melissa Clouthier's awesome piece on President Obama and the birth certificate, "President Obama’s Birth Certificate: Why Now?"

"...Since last time Courtney, I’ve invested a little money to make this easy survey automated.
"...After taking the poll, I ask that you might forward the voting link to anyone that you think is knowledgeable or interested in terrorism & counterterrorism issues. I need many responses in order to build insightful analysis. I’m hoping to receive hundreds of responses. Anyone is welcome; students, government, private sector, military, etc.
"...What do you get? Hopefully the collective insights of the brightest minds in terrorism and an understanding of the key questions that need to be resolved to defeat al Qaeda in this critical upcoming period.

Trump, You're Fired! Obama Shows Birth Certificate........by Dan Friedman
Obama is saying he released his long-form birth certificate now because he didn’t want the issue obscuring the presidential political debate. But I don’t think the man is that chivalrous and the disclosure is actually a product of his own political calculus. There was more to be lost keeping the issue alive than there was to be gained by tarring the Republicans with being the party of “birthers.”
Now we can put all that behind us. Come 2013, Obama can live anywhere he wants in America, except 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Keynesian Seppuku [dollar hari kiri]............from Rico
Bearing in mind that the $100 bill has dropped in value to $2 in my lifetime, and that the US Dollar is currently at a three-year low, it's a sure bet that the question NOBODY will 'ask' at Bernanke's irrelevant Presser today is:
"Is it US policy to destroy its own currency?"
First, take a good look at this dollar chart. Note the time of Ben's Press Conference and the time the Dollar sank below the waves!
- What a coincidence.
Before QE-1, the Fed purchased bonds through swaps totally hidden from view.
Sure, QE-2 [the $600 bn bond-buying program] will end in June, but there will be a QE-3 immediately following it....just 'hidden' like pre-QE-1 antics.
- Maturing debt reinvested into Treasuries can do the heavt-lifting without drawing unpleasant political or public attention.
After all, what YOU don't know cannot hurt you....right?
- Out of sight, out of mind and all that.
