For all those who are "taking the day off...from looking for work" [once known as Labor Day, pre-hopenchangen].
The same statistical gimmicks and phoney-baloney reasoning that allows the bureaurats to LIE to us with straight faces and say that unemployment is running 9.1%....and not over 23% (the real number as it would be calculated 30-years ago), has allowed them to claim that ZERO jobs were added to the NFP (non farm payroll) for August. Zero. Zip. Nada. Bupkis. Well, not exactly and not really. If you thought zero was a bad enough number, it sounds a helluva lot better than the 'real' number.
- WE LOST 58,000 JOBS frm July to August. Really. I kid you not.
And wait....there's MORE!!!
The US has the same number of jobs today as it did in 2000...but the population today is 30 million larger.
- To get the same employment-to-population ratio as 2000, 18 million jobs would be needed.
Gee....I can hardly wait to 'hear' what the Clown-in-Chief will read from his teleprompter next week!
- Whatever BS he serves up, you can (a) count on it costing the remaining taxpayers more money, (b) it will be geared more towards saving his job [read: re-election campaigning], and (c) it will be worthless and ineffectual...accomplishing no positive results [just like the reader].

Weimar England?...............by Dan Friedman
Throughout history the perception that Jews were becoming numerous, strong and prosperous set off wild frenzies of Jew-hatred. With the establishment of the Jewish state of Israel, and its flowering against all odds and opposition, the ancient reflex has surfaced among the Nations again. We are in the middle of another paroxysm of self-destructive hate which, ironically, only the Jewish state of Israel can save the Nations from.

Slicing unemployment.................from Rico
OK, with the 'offishul' unemployment numbers cooked/jiggered by the government, what is happening is hard enough for many to understand. Many likely 'think' of unemployment as a monolithic number, and accept the 9.1% figure as 'not that bad'...especially if it isn't them yet.
It would be different if the 'real' number 23% were admitted to, and used by the presstitutes. It won't be.
Slicing the 'official' unemployment numbers by level of education, something else becomes apparent. It explains why some seem to be faring better than others
...and it has nothing to do with which farm animal you vote for (the jackass or the elephant):
- The unemployment rate for BA degrees and higher is 4.3%.
- It's almost double for HS graduates at 9.3%.
- Doubling-down yet again it is 15% for non-HS graduates.
Equality of outcome is a problematic and elusive 'dream' for our "progressives." Some people are harder-working than others, and some are smarter than others. This is why such great efforts are made to 'lobotmize' the general population, and to place them into dependency [serfdom] on the government's plantation...this is easier than actually motivating people to improve their lot in life, and to be capable of critical thought. Besides, what would happen to our self-annointed 'leaders' if independence of thought and self-sufficiency were the order of the day like it used to be? [read: who needs 'em?]

Obama's Fearmongering
Cross-posted from American Power.
*****
From Toby Harnden, at Telegraph UK, "American Way: Barack Obama, 2008 man of hope and change, becomes 2012 candidate of fear and status quo."
So how much trouble is Barack Obama in? Well, it doesn’t get much worse.Read it all at the link. After bungling everything else, Obama's still got fearmongering. Also, at Legal Insurrection, "He always was the “candidate of fear”."
His approval rating is hovering just above 40 per cent. Unemployment is stuck at 9.1 per cent; the White House forecast that it would be about 6.5 per cent by now if its economic stimulus plan was passed. Essentially, the American economy is grinding to a halt.
More importantly, what is Obama going to do about it? In terms of policy, the White House has run out of whatever ideas it ever had.
Obama, who declined even to comment on the latest jobless figures on Friday, is like a rabbit caught in the headlights.
Having squandered the first two years of his presidency ramming through a healthcare reform that could not win the support of a single Republican on Capitol Hill and is now mired in the courts, he finds himself confronting a divided Congress.
So the only thing that matters to the people around Obama, who are eager for another four years of employment, is his re-election. I’ve long thought that Obama himself is lukewarm about continuing in a job where the adulation he is used to is in short supply. For Democratic powerbrokers, however, maintaining their grasp of the White House is everything.
