New EU Directive - Important
Directive No. 456179EU
In order to meet the regulations and conditions laid down for unification under the Single European currency, all citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Malta, Cyprus and Eire must be made aware that the phrase 'Spending a Penny' will be banned from use after 31st December 2009.
As from 1st January 2010, the correct terminology, which must be used, will be:
'Euronating'.

Good enough for...........from Rico
Apparently the 'coincidental' release of only 11,000 jobs 'lost' following on the heels of the "jobs summit" was good enough for (a) the stock market which rallied. and (b) Obama/Soetero who proclaimed "mission accomplished" on the unemployment fron.
NOT that the Bureau of Labor Statistics or anyone involved with the current government would LIE to us. Oh, no.
Never mind that the 'real' unemployment number is about double the reported 'official' number (with sincere thanks and a tip 'o the hat to those who jiggered the way the unemployment numbers were 'calculated in the early 1990's).
And never mind that we are NOT adding jobs. Especially jobs that pay a living wage. We are only losing jobs less quickly and adding-back marginal and temporary jobs while continuing to bleed real jobs.
Also please never mind that 24 States have had to borrow Federal money to continue paying unemployment benefits.
This might be good enough for some, but not for me. This is unacceptable, reckless, irresponsible, and criminal.
- Taxes need to be 'cut' or a 'tax holiday' needs to be declared. Instead of increasing deficit spending/borrowing, serious incentives are needed to create serious jobs.

Think about THIS for a minute. Within the next 12 months the US Treasury will HAVE to refinance (roll-over) $2 trillion in sjort-term debt. That does not include and additional deficit spending, which is already at $1.5 trillion.
- HOW in the world can the US Treasury borrow $3.5 trillion in only a year? [That's about 30% of our total GDP.]
On the Greenspan-Guidotti Scale (from a 1999 academic paper they authored) the US is a guaranteed "default."
- Without hard currency reserves equal to 100% of short-term debt (per G.-G.) the US is likely to have a currency crisis within the next two years.
Only a Kool-aid infused monkey can fail to see the implications.

This is what Louie-the-dog and I woke up to not long ago.
Not good.
Light snow falling, and lotsa ugly white stuff already on the ground...with more coming! It's not finished yet, it just started.
Well, I have good Scot's whiskey and local 'shine at hand, and a fireplace...BUT this is several months too early for this part of the country. It's Not just 'early' but so far looks like it has already equalled last year's total snowfall.
Al Gore and Michael Moore are NOT welcome around here today. Hell, ANY day. Folks around here don't tolerate self-serving liars. Now that IS an 'inconvenient truth.'
Maybe some hot grits will cheer me up some...

HERE WE GO AGAIN . . . .
In December 2009, the HomeOwners' Association (HOA) of Sussex Square, ordered 90-year-old Van T. Barfoot lives in Henrico County, Virginia, to remove the flagpole from which he flies the American flag.
The HOA retained a lawyer to help enforce their order. The Association's bylaws do not forbid flagpoles, but the HOA ruled Barfoot should not be allowed to use his "for aesthetic reasons".
Mr. Barfoot is contesting the order.
