I just "ran across this" at THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE.
The "dumpster-diving" reference was evocative and sobering. And NOT far-fetched.
Let me cite some verbiage:
-"Younger people are going to be confronted with a lot of older people livimg in the streets in the not too distant future.
-Expect to be worse off than a sharecropper or serf on some Duke's estate..."
