We are today witnessing the death of middle-class retirement.
One-of-three Americans have NO savings or retirement account.
Of those Americans actually having a retirement account, half have $2,000 or LESS in it.
The Social Security ponzi-scam, which was originally intended to keep you from starving or being 'completely' broke in retirement, still isn't "living large" and doesn't do much more than intended today....yet one-in-four Americans will completely depend upon Social Security for retirement income.
It will not be pretty.
Retirement? Better row harder galley-slaves!

New Maine Republican platform... genius or disaster?
I ponder whether or its not a good thing over at the Examiner.
Here is my reaction on WCSH.
Not surprisingly Snowe has said platforms don't matter.

Lucky!
"The most striking thing about all three attacks is not what we heard, but what we haven’t heard. There has been very little talk about the global war that 44's admin sometimes acknowledges we are fighting and virtually nothing about what motivates our enemy: radical M'Hammedism.
Just Lucky!
"Success in the war on terror is not apprehending terrorists after their attacks fail. Success is preventing them from attempting the attack in the first place.
"The Times Square attack was the third time in the past six months that an individual terrorist with ties to high-level Islamic radicals overseas has launched an attack on the American homeland. In each instance, America’s vast, multibillion dollar intelligence and law enforcement establishment failed to detect the terrorists’ plans beforehand.
"And in each instance 44's Admin moved quickly to minimize the significance of the attack and downplay the connections that the attackers had with international terrorists"

Get a job.........from Rico
The J.J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers just released a study. This is not good news, and ay not be reported in the lapdog MSM because it does not fit the "Recovery" party line promoted by the DNC(C), The People's Central Committee (Congress), or The Red Shed (formerly known as the White House).
Eighty percent of people jobless last summer (August) are still out of work. Just one in five (21%) found jobs.
- Of those who found work, only 13% found full-time jobs.
- 70% have been looking for work longer than six months.
To cope, 70% have dipped-into retirement funds, 56% borrowed money from family or friends, and 45% turned to credit cards.
- 42% skimped on medical care, 20% moved-in with friends or family, and 18% visited a soup kitchen.
As we often used to say "this wound is deeper than the flesh...it has cut into the bone."
I leave you with a "classic" rendition by the Silhouettes "Get A Job."

Video: Jungle Alcohol
This is a real video from a French documentary about Africa .
There are trees that grow in Africa which, once a year,
produce very juicy fruits that contain a large percentage of alcohol. Because there is a shortage of water, as soon as the fruits are ripe, animals come there to help protect themselves from the heat. What happens next, you can watch for yourselves.

Move along, nothing to see here...
The 'financial media" was just as wrong in 1929 as they are today. So are the 40# brains in government.
Move along, nothing to see here sheeple!
The biggest EVER intraday point drop on the DJIA (9%, 1000 points) taking the Dow below 10k is blithely dismissed as a "glitch," Yeah. Right.
- Well, we 'only' ended the day with a 3.5% sell-off, and the Euro 'only' ended 1.5% below the Dollar. A mere two cents. No big deal. [Ignore gold spot touching $1,200]
...move along, nothing to see here!
The financial media was WRONG in 1929. How do you rate them today?
What happens to "the markets" when the 'Boomers' start to retire and expect to retire on their investments (401K's-IRA's)?
1. They will SELL their equities.
2. Who will BUY them? WHY would they?
Oh Maria (Bartiromo), I need a motorboat!

Inflation...............from Rico
You may remember a time when you were asked "will that be paper or plastic?" and it queried how you wanted your groceries sacked.
It works pretty well for buying gasoline (or most other items) these days. Bear with me:
In 1970 you could buy three gallons of gas with a dollar bill or a silver dollar. Anyone could easily get a silver dollar for a paper dollar.
Today you can buy about five gallons of gas with a silver dollar, but you can only buy one-third of one-gallon with a paper dollar. When was the last time you could trade a paper dollar for a silver dollar? Tried lately? Good luck!
- This is a difference of fifteen times (15x) or 1,500%! It is also called INFLATION.
And there are still some who believe the Government when it says "Inflation? What inflation? We don't have no stinkin' inflation!"
