NIA Economic Deja Vu?...........from Rico

No, the guy in this video is NOT as cute as Maria Bartiromo or the other Money Honeys on Financial TV, but he actually knows whereof he speaks. They are parrots reading a teleprompter, and this fellow is the bearer of some very bad news you won't hear from the "if you look good you are good" talking heads.

HOPE is not an investment strategy, nor is it even a "plan"...

Watch the video and decide for yourself. The numbers do NOT look good, but the math is merciless.

Victory is the Only Option

I love this!

From the
House GOP Conference:

While President Obama and Vice President Biden continue to seek credit for "ending the combat mission" in Iraq, this video praises the contributions of our troops for helping bring greater stability and security there -- significant progress that was only made possible through a surge strategy most Democrats like the President and Vice President opposed. As the drawdown of troops in Iraq continues, House Republicans are grateful to all the men and women in uniform, as well as their families, for the courage and sacrifices they have made, and continue to make, to advance freedom abroad and strengthen our security here at home.

VBS TV: Afghanistan in the UK Part 5 of 5

'We travel to Wootton Bassett, in Swindon, originally made famous by the British comedy show The Office. These days its main claim to fame is as one of the first places the Army repatriates its dead soldiers onto British soil, due to its close proximity to RAF Lyneham airbase. Relatives and friends of the slain young people regularly line the streets as funeral corteges with coffins draped in British flags trundle down the high street. Whoever is head of the Swindon Tourism Board certainly has an interesting job.

After talking to the landlady of the local Conservative club, we travel back to STANTA to meet up with B Company once again. We talk to the young medic team and learn more about their motivations for putting their lives at risk every day. We also revisit brain-damaged Afghan vet Richard Dare who describes in vivid detail how combat shock manifests itself; in his case at a steak dinner on holiday in Ibiza. Then we wave goodbye to 2 Para, until we catch up with them again next year when we join them in Helmand.

Punk points: the main song we used for this film is “Visions Of War” by Discharge.'

Sad end of a chain-letter. Socialism......from Rico

We are witnessing the sad end of an economic chain-letter.
- Consider REAL vs. NOMINAL for a moment.

In the last decade (that's 10 years for progressives):
- GDP vs. Gold is down <62%>
- Median Home Price vs. Gold is down <70%>
- Per Capita Income vs. Gold is down <70%>
- Beef vs. Gold is down <63%>

In REAL terms we have been not only in a 'recession' but in a 'depression' for a quite a while already.
- Recovery? Get REAL.

NOMINAL the DJIA is down over 28% from its Oct 2007 high of 14,280.

REAL it's down 50%. REALLY.

And vs, the $$$ the DJIA is down in REAL terms by 79.6%!!!

Gee, our fractional reserve lending/banking system has worked a treat, eh, Maynard?
- Double-plus good!

What we are witnessing is the sad end of a Ponzi scheme, the end of a chain-letter (ever hear of Albania?).

This is exactly what SOCIALISM has to offer you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Collapse under the weight of it's delusion, idiocy, and corruption.

The Left's Eliminationist Narrative

After yesterday's smackdown, Charles Johnson is doing Olympian twists and turns (safe link) to try to salvage his "right-wing bigotry and hatred" slander regarding the New York cabdriver attack. To see people like this is to witness those who inhabit another world apart from reality. It's a world that Melanie Phillips explained in The World Turned Upside Down. No truth can break them from the grips of their hatred, and those who deviate from the narrative are not just repudiated, but hounded --- even beaten --- into silence and subjugation. That's why leftists get along so well with jihadis. Their goals of ideological domination are one and the same.

William Jacobson has an awesome post on this, "
Another Failed Eliminationist Narrative" (via Glenn Reynolds):

Photobucket

Bill Sparkman. Amy Bishop. The Fort Hood Shooter. The IRS Plane Crasher. The Pentagon Shooter.

People who had nothing to do with each other in the real world. In the blogosphere, each of these people was linked by a macabre desire by the left-wing blogosphere to find a crime which fit a narrative of right wing violence inspired by talk radio, Fox News, "wingnut" bloggers, and Tea Partiers.

It's the narrative pushed by Dave Neiwart of Crooks and Liars about an "
eliminationist" radical right. You could say that Neiwart fancies himself the new Richard Hofstadter, and "eliminationist" is the new "paranoid style" in American politics.

In each case, the facts did not fit the narrative. But the narrative was pushed anyway.

Add the
Anti-Muslim Cabbie Stabber to the list. That person is Michael Enright.

The narrative which
exploded immediately in the left-wing blogosphere was that right-wing incitement related to the Corboda Mosque and Islamic Center incited Engright to stab a Muslim cab driver, after questioning the driver as to his faith. Here is a taste of the initial reaction from leading blogs ...
Check the rest of William's post for all the usual suspects.

And don't miss Michelle Malkin's entry as well, "Left: The NYC Muslim cabbie stabbing was right-wing ISLAMOPHOBIA!…oh, wait a minute…" Michelle links to a classic example from the Village Voice: "Was the Muslim Cab Driver Slashing the First “Ground Zero Mosque."

This is par for the course. Fortunately though the slanders are being debunked and their perpetrators repudiated. The November election's going to start the process of removing these freaks from power. It may well take a couple of elections, but radical leftists have badly overreached and their attempts to keep power at all costs have become increasingly extreme. But don't rest, friends. They're on the run and we're going to keep the pressure on. Evil will prevail only in the absence of countervailing moral power. Keep your head in the game and your eyes on the ball. But most of all get in the arena if you're on the sidelines, and give no quarter. The battle is enjoined!

Article: Blaming climate skeptics for green failures is convenient but wrong

It’s not been easy being green since the revelations of Climategate and mounting evidence that the science behind man’s influence on climate change is far from accurate, let alone settled. No wonder then that many greens chose to vent their frustration at skeptics and blame their ideological opponents for their troubles.

In the past decade, leaders of the global warming movement have won international fame and acclaim, including Nobel prizes and Oscars

VBS TV: Afghanistan In The UK Part 4 of 5

'We meet some young soldiers who discuss how fair it is that British ammunition used by 2 Para in Afghanistan is of a smaller calibre than American ammunition. In perhaps the biggest understatement of 2010, craftsmen Richard Robinson informs us that Afghanistan is: “just not a nice place.” Then we leave the camp and travel to to meet Afghan veteran Richard Dare. He was a private in the Royal Anglican Regiment, made famous on British telly by soap opera actor Ross Kemp’s forays into TV war reporting. (He played surly tough guy Grant Mitchell in “Eastenders”). Richard was severely brain damaged after a mortar attack.'
