Hmmmm....in honor of the famous pilot "Wrong Way Corrigan" seems appropriate here.
Pilots will understand the following, as will many others.
Our body politic, explicitly Joe Everyman, is painfully figuring out that Barry & Friends are not only "fly by sight" but by the seat of theur pants, too.
And NOT very well at that.
Night is falling. Many of us were already doubtful that any of them had bothered to learn 'landing' after having taken off. I do not think any of them is qualified to "fly by instruments" and, well...to be frank, any landing by them will be on the seat of OUR pants since I will not make the leap of faith that they can manage anything other than a crash. I can not believe anything else.
Rhetoric, the ability to 'talk' (deliver a convincing reading from a teleprompter) is NOT the ability to DO.
- Unless a qualified grownup takes the stick, WFD (we're freaking doomed)!!!!
So thanks, pilot Barry!!!
(pssst...don't look now, but all the pilots friends have taken the 'chutes' for themselves!)

Palin on Obama's WTF Moment in SOTU
The full clip is at Right Scoop, "Sarah Palin Talks Obama’s WTF Moments in SOTU."
And see Gateway Pundit, "Whoa!… Sarah Palin on Obama’s SOTU Speech: “WTF Was Spot-On… There Were a Lot of WTF Moments In That Speech”."
RELATED: A killer lead editorial from Wall Street Journal, "The Great Misallocators: What Barack Obama and General Electric Have in Common":
President Obama on Tuesday night stressed U.S. economic competitiveness as a new policy theme, accentuating the point he made last week by naming General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt to lead his new jobs council. This is welcome, though not solely because it may signal less Administration hostility to business. The pairing is also instructive because both Mr. Obama and GE symbolize a major reason the U.S. has become less competitive—the misallocation of resources.
***
Step back for a minute from the day to day policy fights and consider how an economy can grow faster. One way is to get people to work harder or longer. The government can contribute here with policies that reward work and investment, such as lower taxes.
A second route to faster growth is innovation, which means inventions or new processes that increase productivity. Government can help with money for basic research, but private investment, human ingenuity and luck are the main drivers.
The third way is through the more efficient use of capital, both human and monetary. These resources are scarce in any economy, and growth will be fastest if they are allowed to find their highest return. If resources are allocated to less productive uses or create asset bubbles due to bad policy, then overall growth will be slower than it should be.
In our view, this third point has been the largest but least appreciated problem in the U.S. economy in recent years. First the Federal Reserve's subsidy for credit and other policies pushed resources into the financial industry, and especially into real estate. When that bubble burst, triggering the 2008 financial panic and recession, the U.S. responded over two years with a huge expansion of the federal government.
Both periods were marked by the misallocation of trillions of dollars into wasted investments. One reason the current recovery has been so lackluster is that it takes time for an economy to retool from these mistakes. Money that went to build now-empty condos on the Vegas Strip—or to government transfer payments—can't be reclaimed to rebuild American manufacturing and technology.
***
No company illustrates this great misallocation better than the General Electric Co. For decades it was a symbol of U.S. manufacturing and export prowess, building jet engines, gas turbines, consumer appliances and more ...

VIDEO: Progressives Slobber Over Obama's SOTU Address
Look, I only watched parts of it, but I'm agreeing with Jennifer Rubin: The president "phoned it in."
Here's the full video clip: "State of the Union, 2011."
A bare majority at CNN's poll (52 percent) report a positive reaction to the address, and a third said "they had a somewhat positive response and 15 percent with a negative response."
More at Memeorandum.
I'll be reading over some of the left's reactions and will have more in an update.

SOTU (the State of the Union). So WHAT?.............from Rico
The political party that calls the 'other' party "the Party of NO" should itself be named "the Party of we're NOT telling you."
I wrote this yesterday, but instead of sending it waited until after the SOTU address to see if my 'guesstimation' of the current crop of low-lifes would be proven wrong. It wasn't. The lying thieving bastards just can't speak plainly or talk straight, but I understand completely...if they did there would not be enough tar & feathers or enough rope & trees, so it's clearly in their self-interest to NOT tell us the truth.
Here are some things UNSAID which some politely call 'spin' and others call 'lying by omission' (just NOT telling us):
- QE-1 didn't work and spending $1.75 trillion dollars did not accomplish a thing.
- The $12.3 trillion dollars the FED spent or loaned since the 2008 meltdown accomplished nothing (unless you're Citi, B of A, or Goldman, Morgan et. al.).
- QE-2 (continuing monetization of US debt) never identified a maximum but only a minimum of $600 billion in additional FED purchases of Treasurys, and it never identified June 2011 as the end of QE-2...it was only said that a target of $600 billion would be spent BY that date, not that this was an end date or they would stop buying/spending.
...............are you starting to catch on yet? Get it? Here is some more:
Shadow Stats (John Williams is the real deal and a mensch) calculates the REAL numbers the way they were done by the USG in the 1980's-1990's before O.D.D.I. (official data distortion and intervention) and M.O.P.E. (management of perception economics) became Government Policy and practice. [for kool-aid drinkers read: BOGUS numbers, lies]
BOGUS REAL
1.5% 8.91% annual Consumer Price Index
9.4% 22.4% unemployment (only 47% of working-age Americans have a full-time job today)
3.25% <1.44%> GDP annual (shown as 'growth' when it is in 'decline' ....negative)
George Orwell was a genius ahead of his time.
Both U.S. political parties amply demonstrate Orwellian double-speak (freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, etc.) and the sheeple continue to be told everything is getting better and going to get better. Double-plus GOOD!
The populi thus convinced, the rape of the common tax-payer by the taxs-penders on behalf of the tax-eaters merrily continues unabated.
More Government and more freeloaders will NOT solve this problem. Having spent all of our money, we are now spending OPM (other people's money) at a parabolic rate which cannot be sustained.
- Maragaret Thatcher had it absolutely correct when she commented that the only problem with Socialism was that eventually you run out of other people's money. Uncle Sam is broke and borrowing heavily, what happens when 'other people' quit loaning this deadbeat their money?

Riots in the Middle East
There are some significant riots currently in Israel's neighbor Egypt. These riots are a spillover from Tunisia's recent riots and ousting of their evit dictator. Tunisia's success has gotten Arabs worldwide thinking, hey, why not us?". Well, riots are going strong in Egypt, and while Tunisia has been a unprecedented success, there is less hope for a similar outcome in Egypt. As an aside, why aren't the Arabs rioting in Israel? Shouldn't they take this unique opportunity to revolt against the evil, warmongering, apartheid, baby-killing, illegal Zionist Entity?

UN's Israel Lunacy Spilling Over to Other Areas by Dan Friedman
Who would have thought it was possible to ruin the UN’s reputation? But one of their own employees is trying his best to do just that. At the enormous bureaucracy a special section has been created known as (no irony intended) The Human Rights Council where UN personnel most afflicted with anti-Semitism can find a home and, presumably, be confined. But as this story and this editorial about a UN loose canon so vividly demonstrate, Jew-hatred is a powerful obsession that often drives the Jew-hater off the deep end, making it not so easy to quarantine.

Iran-Backed Terrorists Tighten Their Grip on Lebanon........by Dan Friedman
Let’s face it, the Muslim world plays a game with which America’s diplomatic and intelligence elites are totally unfamiliar. But that also prompts a question: OK, so what’s Israel’s excuse? By allowing D.C. rubes to lead her around by the nose, the Jewish state has backed itself into increasingly tighter corners, until today Israel is almost completely boxed in. Hamastan to its south, an American-armed and-trained PLO “sleeper” militia to its east, and now an entire country taken over by Hezbollah to the north. Fortunately, Israeli Jews still have an escape route through its coastline to the sea. The bottom line? After two decades of failed negotiations, successive concessions and obeisance to Washington, Israel’s enemies have never been closer or better armed. I can hear the mullahs now, “who needs an H-bomb when we can gain the advantage and wipe Israel off the map without getting our hands dirty?” So much for that “wily Jew” canard.
