I have a lot of 'extinct' (obsolete or defunct work equally well) old paper currencies from past travels.
Prettily engraved, but absolutely worthless albeit colorful scraps of paper.
I use them mainly as bookmarks now....they ARE good for that at least.
Governments change. They come and go. Their currencies (note I do NOT say 'money' here) usually become history when they do.
Bear in mind that in human history over 4,000 paper currencies have become extinct.
Sadly, too many in my lifetime, but I have had the 'learning experience' of having seen it happen.
This comparison of the British pound, the Swiss Franc, the Canadian Dollar, and the US Dollar in terms of gold is one of the better illustrations of the death of paper fiat currencies I've seen. It's worth looking at, then thinking about.
No, they are not quite bookmark material yet, but......

.............soooooooo, he just changed the White House into the Red Shed, and moved the Executive Offices to K Street.
Slicker than Slick Willie, he appointed 17 lobbyists to key positions in his administration in his first 14 days in office.
- This does not include Tom Daschle (hock, ptooey) who was actively lobbying but never bothered to register as a lobbyist.
Is it ANY surprise to (a) see the ramping-up of Goldman Sachs lobbying expenditures, or (b) observe their near-perfect (well, they did 'miss' making a profit on one day of Q1) profit-making trading days?
Shocka, huh?
