Watcher's Council "Two votes for the price of one" Edition!...from Mike Haltman at TPC
The statue of Joe Paterno still stands at Penn State University, so what do the people think?
Here are results that may surprise some of you. Close to 20% of those who voted think that the statue should stay right where it is.
Close to 20% of the participants think that the football contributions that Joe Paterno may have made at Penn State supersedes the fact that he basically stood idly by while an assistant coach committed multiple heinous acts of unspeakable sexual torture on innocent young boys...

Conflicting Reports: Officials Deny Bomber Was Guantanamo Detainee
Okay, an update to my earlier entry.
See: "Officials Deny Bulgaria Bomber Was Guantanamo Detainee."
However, officials now say the suicide bomber was an Hezbollah operative retaliating against Israel's targeted killings of Iran's nuclear scientists.

Obama is Sick......................from Dan Friedman
[It just doesn’t add up. There is something seriously wrong with the present occupant of the White House, and it’s contagious. If America waits another 4 years to find the cure, our country may never get over it. df]

House votes to prevent Obama sharing defense data with Russia
The House approved language on Thursday that would prevent the Obama administration from sharing classified information about U.S. missile defense technology with Russia. The language was proposed by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) as an amendment to the 2013 Department of Defense spending bill and quickly approved by voice vote. Brooks said he proposed it as a reaction to the hot-mic conversation between President Obama and then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, in which he said he would have more flexibility on the issue of U.S. involvement in European missile defense after the November election.

Bulgaria Bombing Suspect Released from Guantanamo in 2004 (VIDEO) - UPDATED!!
UPDATE: See: "Officials Deny Bulgaria Bomber Was Guantanamo Detainee."
This is big: "Mehdi Ghezali, Suicide Terrorist in Bulgaria Bombing, Was Released from Guantanamo in 2004."
Since being released, the guy had been traveling in and out of terrorist hot spots for years, and the Swedish government blew off warnings as nothing more than American anti-terror hysteria.
There's video at the link.

Leftist Takeover of Diaspora Nearly Complete................by Dan Friedman
I have often written about the Left co-opting the major American Jewish organizations. Now we see the same thing has taken place in Britain. Personally, I think the battle on both sides of the Atlantic has been lost, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Every Jew understands that the Jewish spiritual and political center of gravity is shifting to Israel where it was destined to be. In turn, the countertrend in Israel is moving in the direction of nationalism and Jewish tradition. That explains the desperation spreading through the ranks of our Jewish elites. (cf. T. Friedman & P. Beinart) Even though they reign here, on the Jewish matters that really count, Israel will have the final say – and they know it.
What to do? The best way to fight the sick turncoats in our midst is to simply turn our backs on them. Since they’re now using your money to help undermine the Jewish State, stop giving it to them. Then quit if you’re a member. Lastly, find Jewish and Israeli institutions that are truly pro-Israel and working to strengthen the Jewish people. Give your time and money directly to them.
Oh, and just one more thing. If you are a Reform Jew and a true Zionist, you have a predicament. It should be clear by now that it’s a contradiction in terms. You need to sever your connection, find another place to daven, pay dues and learn about your connection to G-d, the Jewish people and Israel with a genuine rabbi who believes in all three.

Nothing says international laughingstock better than this statement from John Kerry!...from Mike Haltman at TPC
Today Russia and China vetoed a UN Security Council that merely threatened sanctions against Syria.
The reason that these two countries feel so emboldened to take steps like this is because Barack Obama, by hitching the wagon of the U.S. to the U.N., has effectively created a toothless superpower.
This situation needs to be rectified in November at the ballot box!
Read the statement and the story at The Political Commentator here.
Sen. Murkowski Speaks Out About EPA Ignoring Alaskans' Concerns
Senator Lisa Murkowski is speaking out about the EPA ignoring the concerns of Alaskans while pushing through their controversial watershed assessment for Bristol Bay, Alaska that would per-emptively deny permits for Pebble Mine
“I’m disappointed that the EPA’s Washington-based leaders have failed to see the benefits of allowing Alaskans adequate time to comment on an assessment that could have significant consequences for the future of our state,” Murkowski said.
It is very disappointing indeed, on so many levels. Read more about how the EPA is working around the local Alaskans to stop the Pebble Mie Project here.
Resourceful Earth has made it simple to write your congressman about this abuse of power.
The consequences of this administration 'keystoning' another energy project in the United States will be severe in terms of jobs, the economy and acquiring much needed natural resources. You can access the action site here.

Real Estate Recovery? Hardly...................from Rico
Ouch!
This morning's existing home sales numbers shows the biggest drop in 16 months (<5.4%>) and the largest 'miss' in expectations in 24 months. Anticipated/expected June sales of 4.62 million clocked instead at 4.37 million.
This Bloomberg chart gives a little perspective.
The chirpy-cheery faux 'news' earlier this week that we have a "Housing Recovery" just isn't so, like pretty much everything else we're being 'told' by the economists, politicians, and FTV teleprompter readers (all with great makeup artists btw).

These Hands - Romney Campaign
Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. But President Obama's comments last week show that he just doesn't understand who the real job creators are. How can he help small businesses when he doesn't even recognize their value?
