Is your city about to file Chapter 9?...from Mike Haltman at TPC
San Bernardino, California is the latest municipality forced to seek Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection from its creditors due to the shrinking revenues caused by the economy but also due to the ballooning healthcare and pension costs that they face.
If unions were smart they would look to renegotiate their contracts before the court does it for them but that is unlikely to happen.

- This is so predictable, that I had marked my calendar for a 'raid' days ago. Actually, certain key events are 'suspect' now and I have three such notations...
'8-01 FOMC announcement; 8-02 ECB announcement; 8-03 NFP (non farm payroll) announcement' having planned for a bumpy ride this week as the market manipulating-rigging continues.
Precious metals were 'slammed' as soon as the cartel was fully caffeinated this morning.
- I guess they didn't feel like waiting for the FOMC to make their disappointing afternoon announcement as 'cover' for this raid. I mean, WHY bother? There not only are NO consequences for them (no prosecutions for market-rigging), but they are agents of the Fed* in this enterprise ("doing God's work" as has been famously said). So, everyone gets a "wham" and a "bam" but NO "thank you" as their pockets are picked.
This is also fairly 'transparent' if you watch. As naked short positions are unwound at artificially-set favorable (for them) price levels, Gold at $1600 and Silver at $27 appear to be where "God and his French cousins" are trying to hold the line.....for now, for as long as they can, until this whole corrupt scam blows up.
