Leave 'em Laughing: Kofi Annan Resigns......................from Dan Friedman
[If it weren’t for the thousands of innocents killed, the slapstick diplomacy of the striped-pants set over the past few years would have us rolling in the aisles. At the very least, we should have learned not to take them seriously anymore. df]
Editorial of The New York Sun | August 2, 2012
Kofi Annan Resigns
“Here is a man who, by his own account, came to America nearly 50 years ago to study in Minnesota. He then spent something like 44 years in or close to the United Nations, rising to the top of an organization that has been funded, through thick and thin, by the ordinary American taxpayer, who underwrites the United Nations to the tune of $5.3 billion a year. Mr. Annan was given the leadership of the world body with the backing of America and, despite the eruption on his watch of the worst scandals in the history of the world body, was kept in office by the acquiescence of America. Our taxpayers have helped underwrite a luxurious residence for him. He won the Nobel Prize for work funded by America. Yet he has chosen to depart his office with a bitter diatribe directed at the very country at whose table he for so long supped.”

Afterburner with Bill Whittle: Going Out of Business!
That which cannot continue, will not continue. Does this adage apply to California? Could California simply go out of business? Bill Whittle tells you a cautionary tale about the California government and how it is driving high tech businesses to Texas at the same time that it is building trains to nowhere. Is the California government going to bring the rest of the United States down a path to fiscal ruin? Find out.

The #VRWC Report, vacation update
OK, so after 3 weeks on the beach what do I hate most about being back at work? Socks.
Well that, and all the stuff everyone else could have done while I was gone, but left for me, because I'm special. Or something.
Are you ready for Taxmageddon? No? Then you'd better buy Obama a drink.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad endorsed Obama's re-election, and called for the destruction of Israel. Coincidence? I think not.
As Obama usurps more and more power unto the Executive Branch it behooves us to consider, what if the Anti-Federalists had carried the day?
And, what if we elected patriots instead of poseurs?
Your tax dollars at work: Missile defense staff told to stop surfing porn while on the job. Is that a rocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
Not for nothing, but every one of my friends who brings me his "broken" PC got a virus from surfing porn. Every. Single. One. Live and learn fellas, live and learn.
They support the troops: Obama and the DNC sue to restrict military voting. The ACORN doesn't fall far from the tree.
Those were the days. Mister we could use a man like Calvin Coolidge again.
Algebra is for nerds. Because the dumbing down of America is fully endorsed by the teachers unions.
Buycott #WIN: Chick-fil-A ran out of food. When was the last time Ben & Jerry's sold out of ice cream? Capitalism rocks. And Leftism is determined to destroy so much more than a chain of fast food restaurants.
In God We Trust: just don't pray for guidance in Henrico County, Virginia. The tyranny of the minority continues, until we decide it shouldn't.
The police are your friends. Even when they steal your truck, get your driver killed in a hail of bullets, and stick you with the repair bill.
Somewhere a feminist is cringing: Adrienne loves her new vacuum. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
Denial, it's a river in Florida.
Finally for today, you think you're tough? Motorcyclist hits deer, gets up, keeps going. Take that, Energizer bunny!

VIDEO: Hot Femen Activists Stage Topless Anti-Islamist Protest at London Olympics!
Now that's my kind of protest!
See: "Femen's Got It Goin' On! Topless Activists Protest Sharia at London Olympic Games!"
Check for that topless video at the link.
And from the report:
"The Olympic Committee must not have allowed those governments to be represented in the Olympics. They are fascists of our time, they treat women like third-class citizens. This is what we object to, this is what they are protesting against," said protester Reza Moradi, without specifying any countries.Yeah, we've got those freak fascists coming out the ears these days!

Obama, America's Gaffe.....................from Dan Friedman
Folks, let’s face it. We “misspoke” and made a very bad mistake in 2008. But it won’t leave permanent damage if we correct it in 2012. After that, though, it could be too late.

COMEX phony as 'professional wrestling'...............from Rico
Another unbacked paper Silver 'take-down' in the NY session. Textbook. Classic.
- It is also about as 'real' as 'professional wrestling' is real. This is blatant paper price manipulation at it's, er......best. Anyone who is still playing in the COMEX casino, deserves it (meanwhile the rest of us suffer in the silence of the regulators). But why?
- This reduces the massive concentrated short positions for the 'invisible hand' in an attempt to move the Net Long as a percentage of Open Interest [NL%OI] from negative to positive.
- BEFORE the FED or ECB can inject more liquidity to keep the current corrupt system afloat, the NL%OI has to turn positive.
Until that happens, the beatings will continue until morale improves.
- Thank you, may I have another?

One, two...three?................from Rico
Will this be another "trifecta" ?
One, Two,..... Three?
You can see the equities markets reaction to the ECB laying an egg moments ago, and this is reflected in the sharp drop in the Euro.
- Why is this a 'surprise' or 'unexpected?'
The ECB said....in a word: nothing.
- Yesterday the FED said....in a word: nothing.
Take a look at yesterday's red line reflecting the price of gold and compare it to today's green line for the price of gold. See any comparison?
- Tomorrow we have the NFP (non-farm payroll) report. We already know what to expect, much as we already knew what to expect from Ben and Mario yesterday and today, yet the markets are somehow 'shocked, SHOCKED'.
I guess we'll have another completely 'unexpected' and 'surprise' day, eh?
- A perfect trifecta in the Kabuki theater of Central Banking/Central Planning [read: meaningless 'noise' full of sound and signifying nothing as Old Billy would say].
