Political Cartoon: Chicago-style Obama campaign smokescreen!...from Mike Haltman at TPC

Political cartoon that depicts the strategy the Obama campaign will use to try and defeat RomneyRyan2012.

It shows how they use the technique that if you have nothing good to say about yourself then rip your opponent with lies and half truths.

Ask not.........................from Rico

A few of us old-timers might remember JFK's famous "Ask not..." speech.

If you want a stark example of how things have indeed "changed" the Too-Big-To-Fail and Too-Big-To-Prosecute banks have a new way of looking at their relationship with their Muppets.....er, customers. It is:

"Ask NOT what your bank can do for you, but ask what can you do for your bank."
- Myself, I'd gladly give them a toaster if they'd stop stealing us blind.....

A BRIEF HISTORY OF JOBS......

You can't eat this...................from Rico

I can 'hear' MC Hammer singing "you can't eat this..." right now.

GOLD.
Since the start of the economic-financial crisis five years ago in 2007, gold has protected people from depreciating financial assets (equities, bonds) and depreciating fiat currencies (Dollar, Euro).
- Today's largest buyers of gold are central banks. Maybe they see also gold as a store of value, and not just another asset you cannot eat?

CORN.
The USDA just cut the US corn crop estimate by 17%, with yield projected at a 17-year low.
- So, while you can't eat gold, neither can you eat corn if you don't have the gold to pay for it first (if you can find corn to eat after the insane US ethanol fuel policy has turned a lot of corn from food stuffs into inefficient and expensive/heavily-subsidized fuel).

In case the enviro-weenies in policyville 'missed' it...you can EAT corn; if you need fuel, that pretty fiat paper isn't at all tasty, but it burns rather well.

GOT...?
Presented are two views of the best-performing assets over the past five years.
- In tandem with the rhetorical "got gold?" we should maybe seriously consider "got corn?"............

Inflation under control? These charts tell me that it's rampant!...from Mike Haltman at TPC

Politicians and economists love to tell us that inflation isn't a problem and that we should take food and energy out of the calculation because they are very volatile.

Because they try to tell us that inflation is low it would mean that the Federal Reserve still has room for more QE.

Maybe someone should tell these people that the main expense for the majority of Americans IS food and energy and that this spike in prices is killing us!

The charts in this article at The Political Commentator tell the whole story. Check them out at TPC here.
