Getting ready for...?....................from Rico
DHS is getting ready for something.
- What?
At least 2500 very serious armored vehicles (some variants never having been used except in OCONUS) are being deployed in the US by DHS now, for what? To make us safer?
- From what?
Myself, I don't feel safer knowing this.
- Actually, I wonder what will keep me safe from them. They are a threat I take more seriously than any other these days...
You already know about our domestic civilian Federal agencies getting enough hollow-point ammo to plug every citizen five times, right?
"We're from the government, and we're here to help."
- Riiiiiiiight!

Can you see it?......................from Rico

Can you 'see' it? The massive cartel market raid so typically-timed around the FOMC meeting.
- If you can't see it, you should submit an immediate job application to the regulators...you're their kind of person. Stupid, blind, but very well-paid to be that way.
For the rest of us, here's what really happened (again).
- A BIG player runs the stops with massive concentrated sell orders in a thin market to drive the price lower, make some fast money, then return to the penthouse for brandy and cigars.
While this is illegal, the regulators "don't see nuttin' at all" in the very best Chicago-way.
- This is why CME volume is down 40%...call it a corruption tax on the market.

It Wasn't a Film That Ticked Them Off, it Was Just the USA..............from Dan Friedman
[What a relief! Insulting “the Prophet” wasn’t the motive behind our ambassador’s murder, no it was our mere existence. But make no mistake, given the opportunity, Obama will take care of that. df]

U.S. officials believe Libya attack was planned: Report
By Liz Goodwin, National Affairs Reporter
The deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya may have been a planned operation and not a spontaneous protest that turned violent, U.S. officials told the New York Times and CNN on Wednesday. Initial reports suggested that protesters in Benghazi, Libya, were angry about an online video that mocked the Muslim Prophet Muhammad, and then attacked the consulate, killing U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other foreign service workers. But now, according to the New York Times, officials suspect that "an organized group had either been waiting for an opportunity to exploit like the protests over the video or perhaps even generated the protests as a cover for their attack." U.S. sources told CNN that they don't think Stevens was a specific target of the attack.
U.S. officials also told the New York Times that they still believe the protest in Cairo, where rioters scaled the U.S. Embassy's walls and destroyed the American flag, was an unorganized mob angry over the video.

End the abuse!.............from Rico

Barry's record to date, and his re-election efforts remind me of both the cycle-of-abuse and the battered person syndrome.
If America were to re-elect Barry, it would confirm this for me...especially the battered person syndrome.
- the abused person cannot leave the relationship due to "learned helplessness.
- the abused person thinks it's their fault.
- the abused person is unable to place responsibility for the violence elsewhere.
- the abused person has an irrational belief that the abuser is omnipresent and omniscient.
It's time to end the abuse, America!

Islam Gunning For The 1st Amendment................from Dan Friedman
US Ambassador Killed In Anti-Islam Film Protest (Sky News)
[Now that Obama has empowered the Islamists in the Arab world, and traded secular tyrants for the Islamic variety, we in America are beginning to learn firsthand about Jihad and its long reach. In the Age of Obama, allegedly “insulting the Prophet” becomes an occasion for violence and rage over there and preemptive cringing over here - the Constitution notwithstanding.
As Reuters reported yesterday from Egypt:
“The U.S. embassy had put out a statement earlier on Tuesday condemning ‘misguided individuals’ who hurt the religious feelings of Muslims or followers of other religions.
‘We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others,’ the U.S. embassy said in its statement.”
Repeat often enough and this becomes a reflexive reaction, as it is already in a large swath of Europe. Note, this is the intended effect and not happenstance. The technique is a Muslim forte and they’ve honed it for more than 1500 years – well before the invention of motion pictures or cartoons. Coercing the infidels and forcing us to bow down to Mohammed is step one on the road to submission and dhimitude. Giving another four years (at least) to an Islamophile commander-in-chief just might lead to the wall at the end of it. But then again, Americans have their priorities in order. It’s the economy, stupid. df]

Apologizing to Our Enemies
By Alan Caruba
All Presidents are hostages to events. It is, however, the manner in which they respond that shapes their outcome.
By the afternoon of September 11, the Obama administration scrambled to disavow a statement to the assault on the U.S. embassy in Cairo that had been issued by the embassy.
The statement said, “The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims—as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”
“Misguided individuals”?
“The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect views of the United States government” an unnamed administration official told Politico.
But the statement did reflect the Obama administration’s views as expressed repeatedly over the years. Indeed, in condemning the killing of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and his staff, issued on September 12, was repeated in President Obama’s statement. “While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the senseless violence that took the lives of these public services.”
The attacks, deliberately timed to coincide with the eleventh anniversary of the worst attack on the U.S. homeland since Pearl Harbor on 9/11, the administration made no effort to connect them. It made no effort to explain to Americans that this nation is at war with Islam, a war made manifest in Afghanistan following 9/11, pursued against the dictator Saddam Hussein, and which the President himself has been personally carrying out with drone attacks on al Qaeda leaders in Yemen and in Pakistan; a war personified in the ten-year effort to find and kill Osama bin Laden.
It was a war declared by Iran when, in 1979, Islamist revolutionaries scaled the walls of the American embassy in Tehran and took our diplomats hostage for 444 days until releasing them the same day Ronald Reagan took the oath of office for his first term in office. He would later order an attack on Moammar Gaddafi, the dictator of Libya after he sponsored terrorist attacks carried out against American targets in Germany and the bombing of an airliner over Great Britain carrying Americans. Gaddafi sued for peace.
If Obama had announced that the proposed funding to Egypt would not be sent, nor similar support for the nascent Libyan government that replaced Gaddafi then, at the very least, a message would have been sent that we will not support governments that stand aside when such attacks occur.
Obama’s “diplomacy” with the Middle East has been a message of apology.
All this is reminiscent of former President Carter’s failed attempts to assert American power and outrage. For all the criticism of President Bush, after 9/11 he swiftly authorized the bombing of al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Obama has been trying to open lines of communication with the Taliban instead of steadfastly pursuing a policy of destroying them. In this regard, ignoring Pakistan’s support for them has been a failure of spectacular misjudgment.
Never forget that Osama bin Laden was found and killed in Pakistan where he had received sanctuary, living barely a mile from that nation’s equivalent of our West Point academy.
Contrast that with Republican candidate, Mitt Romney’s response to the Libyan killings. “I am outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt, and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”
This goes way beyond the politics of the current campaigns. It goes to the heart of the fact that America has been under attack since the killing of marines in Beirut in 1983 and by the attacks on our embassies there and in Africa, and the attack on the USS Cole in Yemen.
Islam is at war with America and the West. Iran has covertly been waging this war. And the Obama administration’s response has been to attack our only true ally in the Middle East, Israel, openly withdrawing from support for a nation that, along with ours, is threatened by Iran.
We must stop apologizing to our enemies and begin to punish them before they once again bring their war to our shores.

Shrinking Dollar...............from Rico

While our attention is being mis-directed to trivialities and essentially meaningless 'news' such as "What will the Kourt in Karlsruhe say" and "What will Benny-of-the-Fed say at the close of the tw-day FOMC meeting, here is something neither the "money bunnies" of FTV nor their almost-equally vapid MSM conterparts want to talk about:
- the incredible shrinking Dollar.
Since 2002 the Dollar has lost 35% of its purchasing power.
Since 1971 the Dollar has lost 81% of its purchasing power.
Since the FED was created the Dollar has lost 94-96% of its purchasing power.
Take a look at the attached, it only gets 'better'............

Obama to Israel: You're On Your Own...............from Shelly
"From WSJ Online.
How much more does any American need to hear from this administration to understand that Obama has turned his back on our closest ally?
Meanwhile Obama's "friends" in Libya and Egypt are rioting and, according to a report in today's NYT, have murdered the U.S. ambassador to Libya.
And Joe Biden? (Obama's Foreign Policy "expert") Bless his soul, he reportedly characterized the attacks on 9-11 as "Bittersweet."
"Bittersweet"? Sort of like, in "Joe's world," Pearl Harbor would have been "Bittersweet"?
Good Lord! For all you Obama supporters, what the hell are you thinking?"

9/11's Aftermath of Lethal Tolerance
By Alan Caruba
The one thing I have never understood is the way Americans seem to refuse to accept the fact that the worst attack on the homeland since Pearl Harbor was planned, funded, carried out by Muslims, and was celebrated by Muslims around the world.
Perhaps the reluctance to relate the attack to “a religion” had to do with the way whole generations of Americans since the 1960s have passed through schools that indoctrinated them to believe that America has been invading other nations wrongly, supporting allies like Israel wrongly, and deserved to be attacked because of it.
Perhaps the election of a President with a Muslim name makes people reluctant to associate 9/11 with Islam?
The President, Barack Hussein Obama, is the son of a Muslim father he venerates even though he deserted and divorced his mother. He became the step-son of another Muslim his mother married, spent four years growing up in Indonesia surrounded by Muslims, until he was returned to the United States to be raised by his grandparents. While growing up in Hawaii he was mentored by a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA and during his college years, a close friend was a Pakistani with whom he traveled to that nation.
In “Audacity of Hope” he wrote, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
In retrospect 9/11 was entirely predictable. American military had been under attack since 1983 when a marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by a suicide bomber. After that, there was a succession of embassy bombings, an attack on the USS Cole.
In 1993 the first attempt to destroy the Twin Towers was unsuccessful, but was treated like an ordinary criminal case instead of the warning for heightened vigilance..
How many more Americans will have to die before we acknowledge that the enemy is Islam and the attacks reflect—not all, but many—Muslims’ view that America is, in Osama bin Laden’s words, the “great Satan”, while Israel is the “little Satan”? It took a decade to hunt him down and kill him. In the end, he was found in Pakistan, a mile from that nation’s equivalent of West Point.
This is not a call to punish American Muslims who are loyal to the nation, but even in our military service, the 2009 Fort Hood massacre by Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army Major, serves as a reminder that it is hard to know when the desire to strike fellow Americans will occur; dubbed the “sudden jihad syndrome.”.
Even in the wake of 9/11 when many in the Middle East were dancing in the streets and handing out candy to celebrate, President Bush went to great lengths to separate the perpetrators from the rest of the Muslim population of the nation and the world. The end of Ramadan was celebrated in the White House under Bush and, of course, by Obama.
One wonders how long it will take for the vast body of evidence that a war is being waged by Muslims around the world against those they scorn as “unbelievers” and against whom Islam calls for “a holy war.”
Recent reports from the Middle East indicate that, over the past five years, scores of Christians living in Egypt were murdered and that women and children are being abducted, tortured, raped, and forced to convert to Islam; 550 cases have been documented. The tiny Christian community in the Hamas-run Gaza strip is under siege. In Indonesia, Muslim protesters forced a church to shut down during Sunday worship. Name the nation, Iran, Lebanon, Kenya, Kuwait, Turkey, and what emerges is a consistent pattern, one that mirrors the way Islam was spread by terror and conquest since the seventh century.
Post 9/11 is testimony to a suicidal tolerance that ignores the message left by the ruins of the Twin Towers, the attack on the Pentagon, and the deaths of more than 3,000 innocent people on the airlines and in those buildings who were deemed the enemies of Islam for no other reason than being Americans, for being “infidels.”
It is a fearful prospect that a nuclear mushroom cloud could rise over Israel and, in all likelihood, over New York and other U.S. cities if we do not end this foolish “tolerance” that preys on an American value we hold dear and which may well doom more Americans.
The official policy of two administrations has been to pretend that Islam is not the enemy. The Obama administration went so far as to tell NASA that its new mission was Muslim outreach. And Islam is reaching back, but not in gratitude for ridding Iraq of Saddam Hussein or protecting Afghanis against the Taliban. The hatred of America, of Christians, Jews, and all other faiths is costing lives every day.
The lesson of 9/11 is that Islam cannot be tolerated.

U.S. under attack in Libya and Egypt! Where's Waldo?...from Mike Haltman at TPC
A Time to Take a Stand: A Conversation with Chuck Norris and Marshall Te...
Last Ounce of Courage is an intergenerational story about family, free expression, and taking a stand for cherished beliefs. A family is struck by tragedy when a young man is lost in combat overseas, leaving behind a wife and young son. Years later, the fallen soldier's father, Bob Revere, serves as mayor of a small town where powerful Washington interests seek to stamp out religious expression. The soldier's son, now a young man, inspires his grandfather to take a stand for the ideals and traditional values that our heroes in uniform sacrifice everything to protect. In honor of his son, Revere embarks on a personal mission to reignite the latent patriotism and faith of his fellow citizens and reassert the cherished rights guaranteed to all Americans.
