You can't "mine" paper..............................from Rico
Bankers are NOT miners, thus they may almost be forgiven for not understanding that one cannot "mine" paper...only physical.
When it costs more to produce Gold than the marginal cost to mine it, mining companies will stop producing and put their mines on maintenance.
- Zero ounces of Gold will then be produced, no matter how much unbacked paper Gold is printed.
Physical demand will remain unabated when physical production goes offline. Gold will then command 'fair value' and neither the FED nor the paper ETF's will be able to 'suppress' prices then.
- The jig is almost up.

Bob Mankoff: Anatomy of a New Yorker cartoon
The New Yorker receives around 1,000 cartoons each week; it only publishes about 17 of them. In this hilarious, fast-paced, and insightful talk, the magazine's longstanding cartoon editor and self-proclaimed "humor analyst" Bob Mankoff dissects the comedy within just some of the "idea drawings" featured in the magazine, explaining what works, what doesn't, and why.

Understanding Bonds.............................from Rico
Bond yields are doing something they have not done in 50 years...they are shooting up.
So what? In just a minute...
- After a week where yield jumped 37%, the 5-yr Treasury auction just had its weakest demand since 2009.
- Yields on 10-yr Treasurys closed today at 2.59%.
Here is the 'so what' ...
bond yields UP=bond prices DOWN and interest rates UP
Or simply put, this is very bad news for ALL.
Not so simply put, it costs government MORE to borrow money to spend that they do not have=higher taxes, less services, fewer jobs, fewer raises, bigger debt-repayment costs, etc-etc

Where's the......................from Rico
Many will remember the old commercial "where's the beef?" which might as well be redone today as "where's the Gold?"
- There was a very good reason Germany was told by the NYFRB they would have to wait YEARS to get their Gold back...it wasn't there anymore, and the NY Fed could not deliver what they no longer had.
Chicago's COMEX is a bigger problem of the same kind.
- A 'futures' market without warehouse inventory becomes a cash exchange.
This latest 'manipulation' of paper bullion (Gold and Silver) may just as well take the paper spot price down to zero, but only a fool would trade bullion in-hand for fiat Dollars that have about two cents of purchasing power...and falling.
Meanwhile, behind all of the staged 'sturm und drang' physical bullion is commanding premiums far above the paper spot prices...if you can find any for timely good delivery, that is.

Africa's Cowboy Capitalists (Part 1/3)
For maverick entrepreneur Ian Cox, Africa is the last frontier of free enterprise. The former small-time hustler has been busting his ass on the continent for years, selling and moving merchandise. In 2012 he nabbed a lucrative United Nations contract to transport equipment from South Africa to South Sudan, a country on many countries' embargo list. The other problem: the journey north entails passing through countless checkpoints and dealing with bribe-happy officials and their nonsensical paperwork and regulations.
Photographer and filmmaker Tim Freccia followed around Ian and the guys he hired for this job. "Cowboy Capitalists" documents their attempts to navigate the continent's dangerous roads and bureaucratic chaos.
Parts 2 & 3 to follow.

Not what it seems...........................from Rico
We live in times when things are not as they 'seem' but are often something else entirely, something unseen.
Paper Gold and Silver 'dumped' at the 'open' of China, and some are confusing the effect with the cause, and the story is 'liquidity freeze' like Lehman in the Fall of 2008...only this time it's the PBOC's fault that Gold fell +3% and Silver fell +5%.
BUT this actually was a 'paper bear raid' using the figleaf of China as a 'cover for action' and for completely different reasons than you will hear from the money honeys of FTV today:
- This was a "price operation" to once again 'save the system'...the fraudulent paper system. As the paper price drops, it free's up bullion from GLD and SLV, which matters a whole LOT to COMEX and JPM who are scraping the floors of their warehouses as they scramble to make delivery of bullion they do not have.
You DO know who the custodian of that paper ETF called GLD is, right? The one with 100:1 fractional leverage of bullion to paper sold?
- Yeah....it's JPM. SURPRISE!

Contrarian Indicator?.......................from Rico
There are times when someone says 'go thataway' that you are much better served by shooting a back-azimuth and heading in the exact opposite direction.
The Vampire Squid (aka Goldman Sachs) has announced that Gold is "over valued."
With physical Gold in very short supply, perhaps they wanted to 'trigger' another paper sell-off so they could acquire more physical bullion for themselves?
NOT that GS (the Squid) has a long track record of herding its clients in one direction while it does the exact opposite of what it hs been advising them to do, or anything like that.
- But, if they say go LONG equities and go SHORT Gold, well...

Let the Government 'handle' it.....................from Rico
I say "let the Government handle it".....
They have done SO well with everything else, it's a sure thing they'll do a slap-up job with healthcare and illegal immigration too!
Oh, not to forget money and the economy:
- In 2008 when the financial industry 'crisis' hit the average American debt-to-income was ~58%.
- Today (gee, thanks guys, nice job) it is 158%, combining both CHANGE and FORWARD (in the true socialist useage).
I think we might have been much 'better off' if Congress and Government had fled to Russia and Snowden had stayed at home......

Yeah, he was a black mofo, and don't let leftists try to intimidate you from speaking the truth. He was a despicable black mofo.

Her little daughter was cowering on the couch, covering her eyes with a pillow.
This is why Democrats like gun control. So people can't protect themselves against the thugs of Obama's black constituency.
