This could go in one of three directions:

- This spineless hack could be replaced by someone who actually represents the electorate base of the Republican party (and not the limousine liberal leadership of the party). Maybe this is the last chance to save a constitutional Republic.

- He is NOT replaced, and the Republicans throw away any remaining political support they had from their voting base. Nothing will seem to change, but by 2016 the Republicans will be extinct as a party.

- In a bid to keep power, Boehner gets Pelosi's "support" and America ends up with a European-style coalition government going forward with no major difference between the Communist Democrats or the Socialist Republicans. America becomes a third-world socialist shithole.

Challenging Obama's Alleged Powers

The good news as 2015 debuts is that President Obama has managed to very nearly decimate the Democratic Party, leaving it weaker in Congress and throughout the nation than it has been in memory. The bad news is that he has weakened the nation in the eyes of the world. He is not trusted by world leaders and his next two years in office will only encourage our enemies.

“Checking Obama’s misuse of his foreign-affairs powers should be a top priority for the new Republican majorities in Congress,” urged John R. Bolton and John Yoo in the final issue of the National Review for 2014. Together they authored “Advice on ‘Advice and Consent.’” Bolton is a former U.S. ambassador and Yoo a law professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Both are affiliated with the American Enterprise Institute.

At home Obama’s popularity, generally remaining between 45% and 50%, has got to be one of the great polling mysteries, but in all polls 30% of those responding are unregenerate liberals so the reality of his job approval ratings is likely far lower than reported. At the same time, though, Congress has even lower approval ratings and the huge shift in power that occurred in the midterm elections suggests that the voters want to see some real action taken to curb Obama.

As Bolton and Yoo point out “These assertions of unilateral executive power raise constitutional conflicts of the first order. Congress must first ask whether any of Obama’s agreements include obligations sufficiently grave to amount to a treaty under the Constitution—or, alternatively, whether these potential deals flow from the President’s legitimate constitutional authority in foreign affairs, and thus need not be embodied in treaties.’

This is not the kind of thing the average person thinks about, let alone has the knowledge of Constitutional issues to understand. What we do know, however, is that Obama has little regard for the Congress and even less for the Constitution. That’s why the issues Bolton and Yoo address are important.

For example, “there are some reports…the administration has pledged not to use military force against Iran in exchange for a halt to its nuclear-weapons program.”  The negotiations with Iran have met with such resistance from Iran that the U.S. and others participating in them have twice agreed to extend them. Iran has never demonstrated any other objective than to have its own nuclear weapons.

Bolton and Yoo say “Republicans and Democrats should agree on one thing when it comes to military force: An international agreement’s renunciation of the use of American force manifestly limits U.S. sovereignty, with enormous effects on national security. Obama’s move on Iran may well violate Article II of the Constitution.” Senate approval by a two-thirds supermajority would be needed for any such agreement with Iran. “White House claims that an Iran deal does not amount to a treaty ring false.”

The claims by the White House are universally false. That is something that Americans have learned the hard way over the past six years. While Presidents have long made ‘sole executive agreements’, treaties require the Senate’s advice and consent and Obama knows he’s not likely to get that.

It’s one thing for Obama to make a “climate change” deal with China—and a bad one at that—agreeing to cut U.S. “greenhouse gas” emissions, the fact remains that “The President cannot commit the nation to environmental standards on his own, because only Congress has the constitutional power to control interstate and international commerce (under which heading the federal government regulations the environment.)”

The new Congress is not going to go along with Obama’s deal with China because Obama lacks the authority to enact it. “At the very least”, say Bolton and Yoo, “the China climate deal should be approved by majorities in both houses of Congress, if not by two-thirds of the Senate.”

“Congress should use the tools that the Constitution provides to protect its political influence in foreign affairs,” say Bolton and Yoo, adding that “Congress can make clear that any agreement made by Obama alone binds only him.”

Other than his power as President to veto legislation sent to him, Obama lacks any real power to effect his foreign affairs initiatives and, domestically, he is not going to achieve anything other than by mean of executive orders and the use of federal government agencies to produce regulations. Congress has oversight and it can restrain and overturn the actions of agencies if they are particularly egregious and it is beginning at least to use it more frequently.

We are hoping that the new Congress is going to act on the voter’s expectation that it will restrain Obama’s efforts to push through programs that harm the best interests of the nation. In the long history of the nation, Congress has never encountered a President whose agenda is to do as much harm as possible.

The next two years will likely see many Democratic members of Congress voting with Republicans. They will do so because Obama has wreaked so much damage to the Party and because they are looking at the national elections coming in 2016 and positioning themselves for them if they must run for office.

Obama is not just the enemy of the Democrats and Republicans in Congress. He is the enemy of the people.

In 2014 Gold was the second best currency, and was higher in all currencies except the US Dollar (that's no coincidence btw).

 

Even with the best efforts of the FED and the TBTF Banks to mask the weakness of the Dollar, it barely managed to squeak by Gold even with the benefit of their paper games and market manipulation.*

- Gold was smacked hard end-of-year in the CRIMEX....er, COMEX, mainly to drive home the point "Gold BAD, Dollar GOOD" for the sheeple's benefit in the US.

 

Gold was UP 15% in Yen, 13% in EUros, and 6% in GBP Sterling for example...protecting investors who held assets denominated in those currencies.

 

Gold was also a safe haven for many who saw their currencies sharply devalued (just ask the Argentinians, Syrians, Ukrainians and Venezuelans what THEY thought of holding physical Gold versus their paper currencies in 2014).

 

*Rigging and manipulation of the Gold markets (like LIBOR) moved from "conspiracy theory" to "conspiracy fact" in 2014 although Barclay's and UBS received 'slaps on the wrists' for it. It pays to have low friends in high places, and I'd expect the games to continue so long as there are no serious consequences and there is money to be made.

The Gettysburg Address - David Cameron Is No Abraham Lincoln............From Daniel Thomas

Address delivered at the dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg.

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those here who gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate - we can not hallow - we can not consecrate this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note , nor long remember what we say here, but they can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain - that this nation under God, shall have a new birth of freedom - and government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

Without the top and bottom lines most students from the pre-progressive education era will still recognise this as the Gettysburg Address, delivered by President Abraham Lincoln while consecrating the war cemetery after the battle of Gettysburg during the final stages of the American Civil War.

Most students will not have committed it to memory but they will be familiar with its sentiments, particularly the last line. They will also acknowledge that it was delivered by a man so immense that despite his humble beginnings and demeanor, he strides across history like a colossus.

It is believed that President Lincoln wrote this speech himself on November 18/19 while travelling from Washington DC to Gettysburg. It is also believed that he was seriously ill at the time, suffering from the initial stages of smallpox.

With all this in mind it is worth contrasting Abraham Lincoln, together with this defining moment in history, with the current crop of political leaders as the world created by the fallen from both the New World and the Old, goes to hell in a hand basket.

The catalyst for this article was British Prime Minister David Cameron and his threat to sack any government minister who does not back him over a his proposed EU renegotiation and referendum.

(Since the leaders of the EU, including the Supreme Leader, Angela Merkel, have ruled out any
re-negotiation this is regarded as a cynical election tactic by Cameron) 

It is obviously beyond his comprehension that these ministers are elected to represent their constituents who in ever increasing numbers disagree with Cameron's subservience to the EU bureaucrats. Either this or he believes the views of the people are irrelevant and should be ignored.

Whichever it is "government of the people, by the people, for the people" plays no part in his political philosophy or that of his administration. 

It is worth reminding ourselves that David Cameron is no Abraham Lincoln. There is no log cabin story here or grinding poverty. Nor is there self education, work in the real world or any experience whatsoever of the lives of ordinary people.

David Cameron hails from a remote, wealthy elite who was apparently 'spotted' at university as potential leadership material. Spotted by who and under what criteria remains a mystery.

He is a machine politician created by PR men, advertising executives and image consultants with the sole purpose of fronting the political elite who are committed to imposing their 'progressive' agenda on the British people whether they want it or not.

Unfortunately for the British people, David Cameron couldn't write a lunch order without his army of SpAds (Special Advisers), spin doctors and media management consultants let alone a Gettysburg Address.

While President Lincoln 'dedicated a portion of the battlefield as a final resting place for those who gave their lives that the nation may live', David Cameron attends the Remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph knowing he is surrendering the sovereignty that our Glorious Dead sacrificed their lives to preserve.

At the same time he is dismantling the once mighty British military machine in preparation for its absorption into the European Defence Force thus consigning a major part of Great Britain's glorious past to history.

To add insult to injury he attended the Remembrance ceremony in the company of five of Great Britain's most notorious collaborators. This group of people are committed to the destruction of a sovereign Great Britain in favour of a post democratic federal super state.

These six political collaborators have done more to damage Great Britain's independence and sovereignty than Hitler's bombs ever did. In line with the demands of EU membership they have set about deliberately destroying British culture and its way of life for a mythical 'multi-cultural society'.

This willful destruction is social engineering on a massive scale designed to replace the cultures and ways of life of the individual nation states with a generic non-European citizen.

On the left is Gordon Brown, a Scottish socialist and misanthropist who harbours a particular loathing for the English people. Apart from his economic incompetence which broke the nation's finances, he signed the Lisbon Treaty breaking a specific promise to give the people a referendum first.

Next is Ed Miliband, better known as Red Ed. He took over the leadership of the Labour Party after Brown's ejection from power. A first generation immigrant, he is a born and bred Marxist who is committed to the replacement of a sovereign Great Britain with a communist run United States of Europe. In line with his creed, he is opposed to the British people having a referendum on their future.

Next is the infamous Tony Blair, another Scotsman and committed Europhile. A growing number of British people consider Blair to be a war criminal for taking Great Britain into an illegal war with Iraq which cost hundreds of thousands of lives.

The refusal of the government, both British and American, to release the findings of the Chilcott inquiry into the Iraq war is considered by many to be the political establishment looking after one of its own.

Then comes Nick Clegg. The leader of the ridiculously named Liberal Democrat party is another Great Britain hating first generation immigrant who's dedication to the United States of Europe is legendary. Clegg also believes that the British people should not have a say on EU membership via a referendum.

Next to Clegg is former Prime Minister John  Major, a committed Europhile who signed the Maastricht Treaty. This more than any other treaty effectively ended Great Britain as an independent country thus giving away what Our Glorious Dead made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve. He did this without consulting the people first or giving them a referendum.

On the right is Cameron, the current leader of the movement dedicated to the replacement of the independent nation states of Europe with a post democratic federal super state.

The appearance of these politicians at the Cenotaph desecrates the monument and makes a mockery of the Remembrance ceremony.

It is worth noting that it's impossible to differentiate between the malign intentions of these six British politicians with those of the Norwegian politician and traitor Vidkun Quisling. Like Quisling they are surrendering their country to foreign rule to the detriment of the people they are supposed to be representing.

I would add in conclusion that there is one particular British politician that ranks alongside Abraham Lincoln in the annals of history and he had something to say about Quislings and those that tried to destroy the nation states of Europe.

1. These same TBTF clowns have a total short position against the Dollar of roughly $9 trillion according to the IMF.

- The Dollar has moved from $80 to $91.5, for a roughly 14.3 % loss.

2. These very same Mensa candidates then bought OIL and other commodities which have dropped adding more losses to their positions.

3. Now there is renewed talk of Greece exiting the EUro and defaulting on its sovereign debt (GREXIT redux).

 

This makes a near-perfect 'loss trifecta' for these TBTF US banks.

 

But, not to worry!
