On-the-brink Brown battles for survival as backbencher threatens 'stalking horse' leadership challenge. And who would replace him. There is nobody in Labour with any brains or ability. We need a general election so we can get rid of the lot of them.

Shame you have no toilet humour about Brown today, hey ho.
There were a number of attempts to kill Hitler. But of course, a sixth sense about these things is one of the requirements to be a dictator.
Regarding the C130K wingbox fatigue problems, the RAF bought 25C130Js (now in service) and intends to buy another 25 Airbus A400Ms (first deliveries 2010+). Much better to buy more C130Js and C17s instead. But why use common sense in defence procurement?
The Hercules article - I didn't know they could carry 200 tonnes of cargo... Do you measure turboprops in 'thrust' or horsepower?
We seem to be spending so much time and money on 'future' kit we have overlooked replacing current kit as needs be.
Anyone for War Bonds?
As for "United States is drawing up plans to strike on Iranian insurgency camp." The media wilfully misunderstand I think. Plans are drawn up for almost any eventuality. The Defense department would be negligent if they did not. I wouldn't be surprised if there are rough plans for liberating Europe, again.
Some unusually good articles posted today, Theo.
C130's cannot carry 200 tons, More like 45,000 pounds.
The C-17 might be able to handle 200 tons. It can carry two combat loaded M1A1's and they are over 60 tons each.

Sorry, you are saying this like it is a BAD thing??
What gareth said re US war plans for Iran.
The US (and other allies) draw up plans all the time to attack EVERYWHERE. And they are quite serious about it. I'd bet money there's a plan to attack Whitehall or Buckingham palace filed somewhere - just in case. Of course there's plans for Iran. I'd be pissed if they hadn't already planned it years ago.
It's what the Planning Groups do...and do well.
