Nimrods ...When the Spitfire did its solo stint a quiet befell the audience ... a reverence ... mesmerised ... sheer AWE.The most beautiful aircraft ever.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, more beautiful and evocative than the sight of that aircraft in flight, together with the sound of a Merlin engine.
