lol. They are on right. There was a US version not that long ago but I can't remember what it was. Apparently this makes it much more manouverable at slower speeds but necessitates fbw like the F117just for basic control.

Bag is correct this is an engineering feat that the U.S. played with and may still be under development F-31 I think??? Whats more interesting is the construction I wonder if the Stealth that crashed in the Former Yugoslavia provided reverse enginnering for what looks to be stealth materals???

Any kid with toy balsa gliders knows that putting wings on backwards improves the performance.

You are thinking of the X-29. That plane had a single engine and single rudder but, otherwise a near identical layout. The X-29 flew in 1984 and for a few years thereafter.

Reminds me of the Crank Arrow experimental F16 variant.

Yeah, it creates some interesting manuever characteristics but it also screws with the wing loading to such an extent that the strengthening needed makes it impractical even with our best materials.
As to "stealth characteristics"... anybody can buy flat black paint.

Uriah is also correct the wing loading gets all buggered and this thing looks really beefed up got to be heavy. As far as flat black paint probably correct there as well.LOL
