Editors note...

I have changed the archives to weekly to speed things up. The question is shall I reduce the content to 2 days worth to really speed things up? As this 'new' blog is now about 6 weeks old I am opening it up for suggestions so leave a comment if you have one.

Theo,
Can I suggest you leave at least a week, or 8 days to give a bit over overlap? Some of us have to go off line for periods of time, even in this day and age, and it is always good to be able to catch up.

that's why I have changed the archives to weekly so people can catch up. 7 days posts take too long to load in some parts of the world and I have to make sure that people do not have to wait too long.

Sorry, just realised that I made a stupid comment above based on a misunderstanding. You are still archiving: I get that now. Shouldn't post before coffee.

1 week would be about right for me. I love the "If we had some global warming" song, I shall be singing that on the way to work...

Theo, whatever you have done, IT WORKS!!!

Please keep it like this. The site loads quickly and I can actually access the videos.

If I miss a few days, I can use the archive.

You've made my day. Thanks!

The less you save, the more clicks you'll get. This is elemental math.

Two days worth is plenty for us addicts.

A week is fine.
More photos of Warships and Totty.....in fact, just photos of Warships and Totty.....and if you're out of Warships...oh, I'm rambling now!!!

I LOVE the faster loading. I was ready to give up this site because it just took too long (even with my high-speed connection) and sometimes locked up my computer. No one else loads so slow. It felt like I was on dial-up again. As long as you archive, there's no reason not to limit your page to two days. DD

Two days is good with your output Theo - don't forget to mention who suggested this to you!!

It is working GREAT now.

the current shorter version is indeed quicker. i say run with it.

oh, and I say, "thanks, theo!"

I agree that with the weekly archiving, two days is fine. The increased loading speed makes it worth sacrificing some front page content...

I'm in Kansas City, Missouri using DSL and your pages load very quickly. I love your site and have recommended it to many friends on both sides of the pond.

what ever you did the other day really sped up the page loading. As is is fine.

But as the other poster noted, it was getting so bad, that it was bringing every browser I had to its knees....

It's fine for me right now as is.
