What about a minigun on a landrover! I have always thought that mounting a GAU8 Avenger cannon onto a Bradley or Warrior would liven things up a bit.

That is real. Its probably a 7.62mm or 5.56mm minigun.
I think that the closest thing to what you want is the Vulcan M113 with a 20mm Gatling for anti-air.
The Avenger would be good for instantly reversing road vehicles when fired ahead - including the new Abrams tank. There is a tried and tested reason why it's not fitted to ships as an AA weapon - recoil.
Best leave it where it's happiest, the belly of the mighty A10!!
