Too many or too few?

Depends on how they are used.

The standard in the north and west is one coalition brigade partnered with an IA division.

The exception is in Ninawa where there are two experienced IA divisions and only one US brigade.

If they keep the 1st IA Division from Anbar in Basrah, then one UK brigade will do to train up the green 14th IA Division.

If they form a new IA division, then there will need to be additional partners to train it...

the troops in Basra are ding nothing. They've retreated to their base and left the city to armed gangs. Its just pathetic. The Brits have been run off by a bunch of thugs with guns and might as well just close up shop and go home.
