I put my anorak on and found that this KA-6D 151575 AE-513 of VA-176 on CV-62 USS Independence had an ejector seat incident in 1985. The canopy jettison is the usual preliminary.
But the only important question is unanswered: did the aircrew and deck crew all walk away safely from this? Fingers crossed for those heroes.

I believe it's the A6 whose pilot's manual has, on the first page in large black letters, the statement: "IF YOU SEE OPEN FLAMES, EJECT".

This A6 certainly looks highly flammable.
