In this here neck of the woods, it is common practice for soldiers to chant "poetry" as they march along. I'm pretty sure that if the troops thought they would see the protesters again, they might have developed some doggerel appropriate to the occasion to shout out as they swing by.
Remembering some of the stuff that was popular in my day, the mind boggles at the possibilities.
Suggestions, anyone?
