Top ten sniper rifles in what context and with what optics and mounts? Then you have caliber choice(s) for the likely mission(s). Seems somebody making internet videos read one too many gun magazines, if not twenty too many and hasn't shot any of them on the range.

Shooting life(forms) isn't a vacuum not are gongs or paper. I'll take an ex-Royal Marine, (mid 60s or before training) with a Smelly rifle using iron sights over a coont with a brand new Cheytac with the "military sales only" PDA. We can go play at 600 yards in my back yard for that matter, I'll be the fellow with the 6mm or 6.5mm and good optics I'm familiar with and both shooters have to spot for themselves and load their own ammo.

Your's curmudgeonly,

Thomas H. of the Wild West.

Fanboy gun videos are fun for some people but they look silly to me.

Aye Tom.

I shoot smaller groups at 200 with my No.4 Lee Enfield than most of the nimrods who arrive at the range to sight up their new Weatherby at 100.

A while back I had a newbie turn up with a brand-new Weathery .308 that shot about 12" MOA. He reckoned he had been robbed. I asked for a try and clover-leaved it at 100.

Told him to try and swap it for a .243, he was flinching that bad...
