Brilliant. Saw them both (though not together) at RAF Fairford last week as part of RIAT 2009.

Captain Whithers at the controls of 558 still knows how to fly like he did during Black Buck One.

Two of the greatest achievements ever of Brittish (if not world) aviation.
And so few realise that not a decade separates the two. Some people in fact flew both while active duty RAF crew.

On a somewhat odd segue, does anyone know of a decent styrene kit version of the Vulcan done at 1/48 scale?

Tamiya produced a 1/48 Lanc thirty years ago; you can still find them on eBay if you're willing to blow $120... Sigh...
