Fourty-four years ago there were similar partings but a lot lower in key -- even to the point of being hush-hush. The Johnson Administration didn't want a lot of people know who and how many were going to Southeast Asia. In fact, some of what was going on was Top Secret, but it was no secret to our targets what was happening. The only reason for the Top Secret classification was to keep the folks back home from knowing what was really going on.

My, how times have changed.
