It's an adapter to make your normal grenade into a rifle grenade.

An Obamacare suppository?

Close.

VietNam era modification of old WW II stock.

ADAPTER GRENADE PROJECTION M1A2 MOD 3-69.

They changed the retainer clips in shape and from four clips to three, so they'd also work with lemon grenades in 1969. The original holes for the four clip set up are still visible. If I'd photographed it with a M-26 installed it would have been too obvious :-)

I worked two days at a gun show (where I found this item) and went to the range and have a range day Wednesday...The machine tools, computers, and toys are inside, not outside and the fish haven't been biting. :-)

Some people collect Star Wars toys and Beanie Babies, I just happen to collect military armaments!
