Yeah, it will do everything a normal F-35 will do except fly anywhere near as far - because you replaced the fuel tank with an engine that does nothing but make you STOVL and otherwise is a hunk of heavy metal you've got to carry around - especially in air to air combat.
There's only one reason to have a STOVL stealth aircraft, and that to have naval airpower on cheap ships when your carriers have been sunk by smart ICBMs.
