Just how Socialist can the Modern Democrat Party get?

By: Ira Geiger (Ira is Senior Network Administrator of the Young Republican Network)

The former Chairman of the Democrat National Committee Tim Kaine has stepped down to run for the US Senate in Virginia. This is not really a good thing for the Country, because his successor Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is the perfect example of what is wrong with the Democrat Party; a party that has moved dramatically to the left.

Back in January, I wrote an article, “Using Tragedy for Political Gain” in which I refer to Wasserman-Schultz as “a passive aggressive individual who is power hungry.” Nothing has changed. She is an angry, vindictive individual who is yes, a polished speaker, but no, not an honest one. She verbally attacks the Republican Party and the Tea Party at every opportunity she gets. She often speaks of civility; yet clearly is a two-faced, double speaking, and dangerous woman. Watch her on one of the Sunday morning talk shows – just once – see for yourself.

As Chairwoman of the DNC, she will promote her socialist views which violate our liberties and Constitution. To our detriment, she is an excellent campaigner and great with raising tons of cash. She raised $2 million for her reelection campaign to Congress in her liberal Florida district and won with 60% of the vote. She brought in more than $5 million for the Democrat Campaign Congressional Committee. She is very good at using money to literally destroy and commit character assassinations against her opponents or any other opponents of her colleagues, making her the dangerous politician I allude to.

As the new chairman of the DNC, she will advocate for abortion rights. She is a strong supporter of abortion rights and has and will continue to advocate for Planned Parenthood:

“Planned Parenthood doctors and nurses screen more than 830,000 women for women for breast cancer, and nearly 1 million for cervical cancer, every year, and for many of these women, Planned Parenthood is their only source of healthcare – whether it’s because they can’t afford health insurance, or because they live in a community … where Planned Parenthood is the only local provider of women’s health services.” (LifeNews.com)

Moreover, in 2005, she advocated on behalf of Michael Schiavo the estranged ex-husband of the late Terri Schiavo to have Terri Schaivo’s feeding tube removed because she was in a facility in a so-called vegetative state. Ms. Wasserman-Schultz was furious at former President George W. Bush for signing a bill to allow Mrs. Schaivo’s parents and family to take the matter to federal courts and get the proper treatment (like food and water) for Mrs. Schiavo. This case ended up in Congress and ultimately the courts ruled to have the feeding tube removed and Terri Schiavo died.

It was at this time in 2005 when I first heard of Wasserman-Schultz and called her congressional office to let her staff know of my outrage. I said she should be ashamed of herself not only as a human being for advocating for something immoral, but also because Wasserman-Schultz is a Jew and it is against the Jewish religion to have any lifesaving device removed from a person. The way I see it: she clearly advocates for innocent people to be murdered.

Another issue I find very disturbing is her support for J-Street and other anti-Israel groups, on top of the fact she has helped multimillionaire and liberal activist, socialist, George Soros. She has hosted fundraisers and other events for groups that advocate terror and the destruction of the state of Israel and ultimately our country. It clearly is amazing how someone who is a Jewish person could be such a socialist and act in the manner she does.

Frankly, I really don’t understand how she manages to get reelected to Congress from her South Florida district which has a heavily Jewish population. I can only hope that her strong ties to the Democrat Party and her aggressiveness will ultimately backfire and more pro-life true conservative, tea party individuals will be elected to office.
Defeating Wasserman-Schultz

Wasserman-Schultz intends to keep her congressional seat. I intend on doing my best to stop her. During the 2010 election cycle, I met with her GOP opponent Karen Harrington, who is again challenging her in 2012. I have had the opportunity to meet Karen on a couple of occasions and I admire the courage she has to take on Wasserman-Schultz.

Karen Harrington is a small business owner who manages her family business “Rickey’s Restaurant and Lounge,” in operation since 1974. There are three locations in Broward County Florida. She uses her fiscal conservative values to stay successful, and will surely be able to apply those principles, if she has the opportunity to go to Congress.
