Thoughts on Riots

As many of you know I have lived in the UK and am married to a Briton. I have lived, have friends or family in some of the areas affected. I was especially appalled about Enfield as my wife and I enjoyed the town centre on many occasions while we lived there together. As far as I know our friends and family in London are ok for now.

What frustrates me most is to see a Tory government acting so meek in the face of this onslaught. They are blaming social media and not allowing the police to do their job. If there was any example of how political correctness has gone too this is it. Even if you have a police force outside they are unable to do anything to defend the residents. These teens know their "rights" and know the police are restricted in what they an do.

Teresa May needs to be relieved of duty after her cack-handed handling of this situation. She admitted that the police had rubber bullets but were unable to use them. Dismissing every option to them because they don't want to be seen as harsh will not calm people who are desperately afraid for their jobs and lives. They British police look like a bunch of wimps unable to stand up to a mob of yobs.

This concerted effort of burning, rioting and looting is planned (for the most part). It is an act of terrorism and they UK government needs to deal with that way. Burning of pubs and off-licences leads one to wonder if certain people are directing the mobs to burn things they disagree with.

Of course it would help if Britons were allowed to defend their businesses and their homes. One person has been shot by the rioters and how many more at to come? Americans with friends in the UK wish their friends enjoyed the 2nd amendment.

Tim is correct, its time for Cameron & Co to show their true metal. If they don't step up, people should call for the coalition to cease.

The riots in the UK should be a wake up call to Americans. If they let the PCism spread to far they will face sort of problem in their own neighborhoods. We have the 2nd amendment to allow Americans to protect their own.

Our 'summer of recovery redeux' is starting to look like the UK - I posted the following link and was totally (verbally) assaulted because I said I had the right to protect myself and my family with a gun! How far we have strayed from the Philadelphia of 1787

I didn't know the Brits had gun restrictions.... ugh

England needs Winnie.
Will it find one?

"Allowed" to defend their businesses and their homes? As is true of every living being, you have a natural right to defend your life. You may need to learn how to defend yourselves from the police while you are at it.

There are a few NRA members in the states who read you blog.

We live down the street from a Gun shooting range.

The official story is I don't not own a gun. I have in the past.

I say the cause, they have turned away from G-D.

PC'ism is only part of it. Of the many festering wounds and open sores we read about there more.

I have no solution for you. All I can say is stay safe. I for one will miss this blog if it stopped.

G-D Bless You!

Large bore pump action shotguns with "bean bag" rounds issued to every copper on riot duty and this would stop PDQ once they are allowed to fire.

Sorry to disappoint you.

It isnt a Tory government. It isnt even a Conservative government.

It is a Coalition Government. Conservative policies are vetoed by the Lib-Dems.

If they walk, Labour gets back in - and Britain cannot take another.

Cameron is a socialist. There are no real conservatives left in the UK Government. Gay pansies the lot of them.

Yeah, I know its a coalition government, but Cameron is a Conservative and should act like one. The L-Ds are so in the dumps politically they might actually to agree to something people are braying for.
