Iran wants to blow up Israel and America to hasten the return of the Mahdi or the 12th Imam. The Southern Baptists want to hasten the return of Jesus and have pushed to start Armageddon for years. One Southern Baptist program to hasten things along is to preach the gospel to all nations so that scripture would be fulfilled in our lifetimes and Christ will return before we kick off.
The CBN report is faulty because it doesn't acknowledge various power struggles in the Middle East. Iran isn't going to hold Saudi hostage to run up oil prices. Iran will hold Saudi hostage until Saudi declares that the Shia Muslims in Iran are the true linage of Mohammad. The Shia resolution must come before all the Muslims are united under the Mahdi.
The USofA doesn't have to do anything in this struggle. This spring, Sarkozy announced that if Iran fired missiles at Israel that Tehran would disappear. He positioned two French boomer boats close to Iran to make his statement easy to enforce. The Israelis aren't little boys anymore and will take care of Iran in their own manner if they feel that it is necessary. The Brits have messed up the Middle East for years and will continue to do so. The USofA just needs to keep out of the way.
Unfortunately America's evangelical hawks are beating the drums in a successful effort to start a war with Iran. The ungodly Democrats are right along with the evangelicals because they think that more wars will bring our economy out of the depression that we are in.
We don't need to carry water for the Saudis in this religious struggle.

Dave is wrong. We should have eliminated the Khomeinist regime 30 years ago. It is not simply other people's business. The Americans the Israelis the Indians the Saudis and the French all have good reason to preempt a nuclear threat from Tehran. Even the Russians should given their experience of Islamist terror but Putin has this fantasy of using Tehran and her Hezbollah proxies to pressure the West.
