When people engage in the ridiculous debate of whether in the vastness of the universes intelligent life exists anywhere else, that thought process presupposes that humans themselves actually are intelligent.
One look around the world at the wars, the killings in the name of religion, hatreds based on superficial characteristics and much more is enough to make anyone question what it is that gives us the right as a species to stake out the position of superior intelligence of any kind.
That said here is a very short and incomplete list indicating human kinds ignorance courtesy of The American Dream (leave any other examples below)!
