[The American Jewish Left makes great use of the allegation that Jewish youth here are alienated from Israel. But even if there’s a shred of truth to their claim, they never entertain the obvious reasons - and never will. A whole generation of Jewish kids has grown into adults during the Oslo “peace process.” As a result, the history of the Jewish state over the past twenty years has been marked by Israeli timidity, concessions, capitulation, disengagement, dismantling and treating Jewish control of historic Jewish land as if it was a monkey on Israel’s back - with all of that effort earning Israel a kick in the pants. That is not what Jewish heroes or sources of Jewish proud are made of.

But as Israel confronts an enemy who won’t be appeased by anything less than Israel’s disappearance, perhaps that is about to change. df]

Israel warns Hizbollah over Iran

Any Hizbollah retaliation to an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would prompt Israel to launch a war in Lebanon so ferocious that it would take a decade to rebuild the villages it destroys, a senior Israeli military officer has warned.
