Iran & West Agree: “Let’s Take Another Meeting”............by Dan Friedman

People who poohed poohed the significance of Wednesday’s nuclear negotiations between Iran and Western powers have been shown to be know-nothing naysayers again. In fact, the parties at the meeting reached a unanimous decision to hold another meeting in Moscow next month.

Here are reactions from diplomats who were close to the talks:

"Talks were intensive and long...we were able to get to know each other's views better..."

- Saeed Jalili, Iran's chief negotiator

"The two sides' commitment to diplomacy in the absence of any clear agreement is a positive sign.”

- Ali Vaez, Iran expert at the International Crisis Group think-tank.

"All parties should be commended for returning to the negotiating table.”

- Trita Parsi, president of the National Iranian American Council.

“...it was clear both sides wanted progress and had some common ground...We will maintain intensive contacts with our Iranian counterparts to prepare a further meeting in Moscow..."

- European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton

“Bupkes”

-Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu
