Khamenei rebuffs U.S. offer of direct talks
DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran's highest authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Thursday slapped down an offer of direct talks made by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden this week, saying they would not solve the problem between them.
"Some naive people like the idea of negotiating with America, however, negotiations will not solve the problem," Khamenei said in a speech to officials and members of Iran's air force carried on his official website.
"If some people want American rule to be established again in Iran, the nation will rise up to face them," he said.
"American policy in the Middle East has been destroyed and Americans now need to play a new card. That card is dragging Iran into negotiations."

Did we think that Iran was going to be played by Biden? Come running when Joe Biden says to? No self respecting Ayatollah would do so and I wouldn't either. Put this in the context of a schoolyard or personal relationships: Iran hates the US - regardless of who is in charge, be it Barry or whoever, he's still the USA. Anyways, one side LETS the other side which hates them take its drone. Hopes by letting the bully play with the drone the bully will like the US. The bully hates the US. The bully isn't interested in being friends but in being the boss. Now the US which is hated by the bully which took its drone, says "we should talk" the bully is saying "Why the hell would I want to talk to you? I hate you! I want to use and exploit you! I want you dead!" and then the US (Joe Biden) says, "wow, they aren't very nice...I thought they wanted to talk."
Not like they need to anyways as the back channels are open through the Swiss embassy anyways so what difference does a high profile public talk do other than to serve Obama that Iran can be manipulated? It has nothing to do with peace, everything to do with press. But Obama doesn't care. On to the next scandal. I call him President Teflon. Nothing sticks to him - and they got more than enough to impeach him on but it won't happen. Gotta admire Iran. Iran at least stands up to Obama and has more of a spine than our own politicians. Some days I find myself actually agreeing with Iran more than my own political leaders and wish they'd have the guts that the Ayatollahs do in standing up to Barry's BS. But every time Joe or Barry calls a press conference, Boehner comes running yelling, "YES FATHER! COMING!" and does whatever he wants him to do. Makes you think.
