Where are YU's Students?......................from Dan Friedman

I do not qualify as a maven when it comes to Yeshiva University or its affiliated law school, Cardozo. I only visited their uptown campus once, and I have no idea what’s going on there now. But this much I can say with certainty. Compared to other American universities and law schools, Yeshiva-Cardozo has a very high percentage of Jews in its student body, many of them observant.
This raises a question about Jimmy Carter and the award he will receive from a Cardozo group tomorrow.
Where the heck are the students?
As far as I can tell, apart from an independent email campaign, the only visible sign of opposition to Carter comes from some Cardozo alumni who have put up a website and reportedly plan some civil disobedience on Weds. If anyone knows of any other activism against Carter, specifically organized by students, please let me know. I’d be happy to be corrected, and broadcast it via the Web.
But as it stands now, there’s only one Jewish tradition being upheld at YU-Cardozo: Turning your back on your brothers and shooting yourself in the foot.
