Five years ago voicing such a criticism of Obama, and given his thin but shabby record there was enough to criticize, would have resulted in a storm of personal abuse with cries of raaaacism. At every level Obama was given a pass by those who had reason to know that he was no good. He should have been stopped by other Senators from both parties, who knew his shabby work ethic and who declined to go public. He should have been stopped by the Democratic Party Super Delegates, who existed for the purpose of being a brake against a demagogue. He should have been stopped by the Electoral College, which should not be a rubber stamp. He should have been stopped by the Supreme Court.
