Why All the Hate Mary?

In a rather stunning display of political desperation, Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu has apparently decided that the best way to boost her flagging support was to insult everyone in the state she used to live in, as well as everyone across the entire South. While her statement to NBC News is being almost universally criticized, the truth is Sen. Landrieu is simply trotting out the two most often used excuses of desperate Democrats, racism and sexism. In this case, Sen. Landrieu is simply being more efficient by applying both terms to an entire region of the country. Let’s face it, if you can’t run on your record, you have nothing to offer in new ideas, and the leadership of your party represents the single biggest failure in modern political history, what other options do you have?  (continue reading)
