Wile E. Democrats............from Rico
Nasty Pelosi's jawboning about she and the Democrats (C) 'winning' in November and Joe 'plugs' Biden threatening Hell to pay if they should 'lose' reminds me of a Wile E. Coyote cartoon. Not just that the Democrats (C) of today ARE cartoonish figures compared to the likes of Harry Truman or JFK, but also of 'that moment' stuck in mid-air just before crashing to the ground.
The Democrats ARE now stuck in a moment...in THAT moment...of realization that they are in mid-air, unsupported, and will begin defining gravity soon, just as they have been defining smugly stupid and wrong-headed.
Wile E. Democrats.
Listen for the thud. Watch for the puff of dust.
November.

North Korea in a Nutshell...........

H/T Airship DC who writes:
'So what do You think? Will the Son of Kim Jong Il be the same as his father? A Chinese puppet? Or will it be a New beginning for N.Korea. He was educated in Europe, and likes the 'Things' that the West can offer. Either it will be a new beginning, or the beginning of the End.'

Mac5
Thanks to Pulitzer Prizer "Best Defense" creator Tom Ricks, GsGf"s long time vertical envelopment charge d'affairs the famous Captain Burke of WoI fame nome d'guerr'd 'Starbuck' gets to headline at the Best Blog on Earth with a killer critique ala guerre' of Great Satan's American Ceaser, 5 Star General - Mac5 - General Douglas MacArthur:
"...Certainly, MacArthur was responsible for some colossal military blunders. His botched defense of the Philippines in 1941-2 and his irresponsible, headlong rush to the Yalu River during the Korean War are among the most epic failures in U.S. military history. Additionally, as Tom notes, MacArthur was openly defiant towards Presidents Hoover, Roosevelt, and Truman.
True! Plus - "...considering he was a general for 26 years, was the Army chief of staff, received the Medal of Honor, fought in three wars and was a senior commander in two..." Mac5 is often regarded as a "...dead end..." in general Generalshippedness.
Nodobby's perfect!
Yet, Mac5 did have a majorly unappreciated effect in creating the modern world since he deployed daemoneoconically delish designer designs to create modern Nippon during Great Satan's occupation of Japan instantly proceeded by Great Satan's 1st and only (so far!) new clear regime change.
"This is democracy!" he exclaimed after the elections of 1947); basic civil liberties, including steps toward equality for women; the unionization of labor, despite his banning of a General Strike in January, 1947; land reform, which sought to "eliminate the feudal system of land tenure and remove obstacles to the redistribution of land"; and the Japanese Constitution itself, particularly Article 9 outlawing war and guarding against remilitarization.
Being poppa to Nippon's sweet rebirthing as a sec, sec, secular (secular), pacifistic egalitarian society worked out better than he tho't.
"...Even with all of these accomplishments, MacArthur's greatest disappointment may have been his failure to convert the Japanese masses to Xianity, despite his conviction that "true democracy can exist only on a spiritual foundation," and will "endure when it rests firmly on the Xian conception of the individual and society."

Thoughts to contemplate
Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun.
How long a minute is depends on what side of the bathroom door you're on.
I have noticed that the people who are late are often so much jollier than the people who have to wait for them.
If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?
Most of us go to our grave with our music still inside of us.
If Wal-Mart is lowering prices every day, how come nothing in the store is free yet?
You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
Don't cry because it’s over; smile because it happened.
We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colours ...but they all have to learn to live in the same box.
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.
Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open.

2011 W-2 Tax Forms...............
If this doesn't get to you, then check your pulse. You may be a flatline...
Should you want to verify this, go to http://www.thomas.gov//, enter "HR 3590" in the search box and look for "CRS Summaries." This is what you'll find.
Title IX Revenue Provisions ”Subtitle A: Revenue Offset
"(Sec. 9002) Requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee the aggregate cost of applicable employer-sponsored group health coverage that is excludable from the employee's gross income (excluding the value of contributions to flexible spending arrangements)."
Starting in 2011 ”next year ”the W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are provided. It doesn't matter if you're retired. Your gross income WILL go up by the amount of insurance your employer paid for. So you'll be required to pay taxes on a larger sum of money that you actually received. Take the tax form you just finished for 2009 and see what $15,000.00 or $20,000.00 additional gross income does to your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next year. For many it puts you into a much higher bracket. This is how the government is going to buy insurance for
fifteen (15) percent that don't have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases, but it's not really a "tax increase" as such, it a redefinition of your taxable income.
Also, go to Kiplinger's and read about the thirteen (13) tax changes for 2010 that could affect you.
Why am I sending you this? The same reason I hope you forward this to every single person in your address book. People have the right to know the truth because an election is coming in November. So vote intelligently, based on your values. But also adjust your tax withholding, or increase your savings, so that you aren't surprised and put in a jam when your federal income taxes are due on April 15, 2012.
Fight organized crime! Re-elect no one who voted for this Bill.
Rico writes:
If you believed Dear Reader when he said "no one making under $250,000 will pay any increased taxes" you've been 'had'...yes, played for a sucker!
Best VOTE in a few weeks and pink-slip every single Congressional asshole who voted for this TAX INCREASE!
- It would be advisable to increase your withholding, or start setting aside some extra cash, because these political porkers have made bacon out of your paycheck!
Stand by for more tax increases, too! As long as you have a red cent left, the Reds on the Left [read: Democrats] want it.
- Every. last. cent.

Must read: The New Road to Serfdom
What might be fascinating to many is that he seeks to explain to American readers that the values that are “American” are really British ones that the colonists took to their hearts and made real. Great British thinkers like Edmund Burke and the writers of the Magna Carta directly led to the ideals encompassed in the Constitution and founding documents. He clearly makes a link between the American revolution and that of the English civil war.

Recovery, NOT.............from Rico
About one third of the US has a FICO score below 620 and cannot get a loan...under ANY circumstances...which has grave implications for any housing recovery hopiness being touted in the MSM.
- Add to that unsustainable levels of personal debt and a truly crappy employment situation, and things look bad not just for the residential housing market but for Commercial Real Estate and Retailers also.
It takes money to be a consumer, and if you have a formerly-known-as consumer driven economy that is broke, you cannot have a recovery. [They must have planted those hair-plugs a little too deep (Joe Biden) for you to have been gassing-on about this being the "summer of recovery."]
Adding more humour to the joke, now our FED is whinging that Americans are saving 'too much' (a paltry 5-6%) of their money and not spending it! So, it's not the fault of the economic Nobel Prize winners in Congress and on Wall Street that we're all in the economic soup, but it's all our fault!
- I guess the next logical (snork-gasp-chortle) statement from 'Plugs" after his famous "it's patriotic to pay taxes" would be "it's patriotic to spend money you don't have to save the system."
Meanwhile, back on planet Earth [and not Uranus where the Washington-Wall Street elites live] I call what we're doing monetary seppuku, quantitative Hari Kari.
