Thought for the Day....

Someone once asked G.K. Chesterton what book he'd most like to have on a desert island.

He answered, "Thomas's Guide to Practical Shipbuilding."

That CHANGE thing..........by Rico

CUBA got CHANGE in 1959.

Looks like a critical mass of suckers has ensured that we're getting our CHANGE right now.

When you look closely at the "Obama Doctrine" [read: ignore, deny, appease, cut-and-run, read from the teleprompter some more] you can clearly 'see' what the end result of this is going to be for the US, if not many additional places.

Lincoln vs. Obama.....by Rico

Old "Honest Abe" Lincoln is reported to have once quipped at his own expense "If I had two faces, would I be wearing THIS one?"

The "Chicago Corrupticrat-in-Chief" Obama actually HAS two faces. This will prove to be exclusively at OUR expense.
- Both faces are malignant narcissistic metrosexual sissy-boys and Communists, but only one of them is apparently allowed to use the teleprompter...the other one hangs out with his Marxist-terrorist-criminal friends and raises money by being one of the "Hate-America-First-Last-Always" crowd.

Meet The Corrigan Brothers.....

Just over a year ago a little Irish band called Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys sent me this video and asked if would help promote them.....

I being a nice guy and seeing the potential of the song (in my defence I didn't think the commie asshole would get to the White House). So I spent 8 months persuading them to do a decent version of the song and eventually they did and this is what they came up with....they also changed their name to The Corrigan Brothers which is a big improvement...

I sent this over to Wogan and all hell broke loose.....now they are all over Radio 2. Since then they have gone from strength to strength and now have a whole catalogue of brilliant songs including 'An Irishman Invented Rock and Roll'

and 'Credit Crunch'

'Jesus Freak'..

'American Dream'...

and finally a remix of 'Lord of the Dance'

Right now they are probably the best Irish band out there and I would appreciate it if you would take the time to listen to their songs because they are bloody good.

More from the Tea Party lines...

Marketing guru doesn't like the tea party thing...hrm maybe because its grass-roots and people like him aren't making any money? Its been a while since I have read anything so patronizing.

The left tried their own Tea Party type event. As you can see from the report it was not that successful.

My fellow Nugent conservative , Ted Nugent, fully supports the Tea Parties and is speaking at the one in San Antonio.

And finally my buddy over at PJM hosts a show debating the pros & cons of the movement.

Update: Riehl conjectures on why the lefties are so upset by the Tea Parties.

Update II : GayPatriot looks into some of the often funny Tea Party criticism.

Update III: Check how popular Tax Day Tea Party is much to the chagrin of Tea Party opponents.

Update IV: More on the pathetic and hypocritical opposition to these events. More silly opposition detailed over on Fox's site.

The Tea Party Map.....from Rico

My good pal Iggy wonders IF our Congress-critters have noticed all the tea-bags yet, or IF they will deign to 'notice' the TEA Parties being held nationwide this coming Wednesday.

I think the arrogant and smug politicians safely ensconced in the comfortable world of Washington are nearing their "let them eat cake" moment, but will be tone-deaf and blind to it
...if only because they all seem to have their heads up their collective asses (as Igs suggests).

YA THINK CONGRESS MIGHT NOTICE IF THEIR HEADS WEREN'T IN CRANIAL-RECTAL DEFILADE?

Obama's Pirate Outreach.....from Rico

Our pathetic pResident Obama ...after his recent "blame us it's All our fault" Hate America tour abroad has barely had the opportunity to craft a "policy" (let alone a new "speech" for his teleprompter) dealing with the pirates of Somalia. Multi-tasker nulti-culti savant that he is, however, he managed this while having his makeup and wardrobe people give him a "fresh look to kick-off his PIRATE OUTREACH.

An excerpt from his TOTUS script reads like this, according to reliable sources (who wish to remain anonymous because Obama is keeping closer "score" than Tony Soprano ever could, and Obama has Rahm as his button-man):

"For too long America has been dismissive of the proud culture and invaluable contributions of the Pirate Community! Whether it is their pioneering work with prosthetics, husbandry of tropical birds, or keen fashion-sense, America owes a deep debt to Pirates."

Now, all seriousness aside, it's pretty clear that our enemies (as have our former allies) have noticed that Obama is severely lacking in most respects, and that last November's election of a 'slogan' instead of a man of intellect and fortitude was more than a moral mistake. A mistake that many are now paying for...and many more will yet have to pay for.

Spring blogger squabbles?

It seems both the UK & the US are embroiled in blogosphere pissing contests between leading bloggers. In the UK its over the Labour smear campaign that has embroiled some of the top political blogs in the UK. The Telegraph tries to sort through the mess. Not exactly surprising as Labour has never really grasped the blogosphere and are obviously worried by it.

On the other side of the pond we have a squabble between Charles "Little Green Footballs Johnson" and pretty much the rest of the anti-Jihad blogosphere Including Jihadwatch's Robert Spencer, Atlas Shrugs and most anyone else you care to mention. Poligazette attempts to crack the nut and urge it to end. Much of it depends on where you fall on the Geert Wilders issue, Johnson is not a fan, and the rest of them are, including myself.

Saturday Night is Bath Night.....

Tea Party meme getting noticed...

But not always for the right reasons. Its not surprising to see someone bringing race into it. There is an implicit taint of playing the race card in this piece. Well not so implicit really; since most of the people he sees at tea parties are white they must be there because of race. I suppose suggesting to him that the MSM is deliberately avoiding filming any minorities would be a shock to him. In fact the guy doesn't know what he is talking about really.

In Maine we are getting all sorts coming out in support not all Republicans by far. There are people who are completely fed up with all sides pushing big government. One could say that this is easier to believe in Maine; home of both Sen. Collins & Snowe neither of who could be described as small government conservatives. It is a shame Mr Broughton has decided to make broad generalisations, race bait and malign the intentions of all those attending tea parties.

Peter Roff on the other hand is more positive about the movement and suggests we are invoking the spirit of those who were fed up with George III and his taxation of the colonies.

Both pieces are a clear example of why keeping the tea parties non-partisan is key to making them attractive to all types of people sick of big government. In Maine, as in other states, there are those from a particular party or movement thereof, that have attempted to hijack the cause for partisan gain. This defeats the object of the exercise and is counter-productive. That said, the more tea parties there are the better for whatever reason they are being held.

Cross-posted @ Red County...

Update: Not surprisingly ACORN are planning to disrupt, discredit and otherwise malign the Tea Party movement anyway they can in an organized way. Not exactly shocking and entirely predictable if you know the behavior of the left.

Update II: More on the whole ACORN sabotage effort.
