In an editorial, the Washington Times calls on Israel to bomb Iran's Bushehr reactor on Friday.

"...It's doubtful America will take action. The State Department's response to the latest IAEA report on Iranian enrichment violations merely said, "We are hopeful that Iran will express a willingness to come to the table. We stand ready to have that dialogue." Not exactly the kind of rhetoric that instills fear of consequences.
...The most dangerous fallout could be political. Russia, Iran's nuclear sponsor, is likely to voice strong objections; the usual anti-Israel suspects will howl; and the United States may not be as sturdy a champion for Israel as it was in the past. But the time has come to demonstrate resolve in face of an imminent threat from Iran. The Free World depends on Israeli power..."

You Know You Are In Afghanistan if…
1. You flinched from a controlled detonation your first week, then stand in the open to watch real mortars landing– a month later.
2. The most intimate contact you’ve had in months is with the shower curtain.
3. Your most successful pick-up line is “I’ve got a vehicle.”
4. In PT gear all the Air Force people look like glow-in-the-dark Power Rangers and you can’t even see the Army Folks.
5. Your 06:00 wake-up call is: BOOM “ROCKET ATTACK - ROCKET ATTACK. Take cover immediately.”
6. They actually give weapons to the Air Force personnel.
7. You give directions using T-Wall & bunker murals as points of reference.
8. You realize AAFES is their own country and can print their own money. (POGS)
9. The amount of sand in your boots is only surpassed by the amount in your nose.
10. Something as simple as taking a shower or going to the bathroom at 02:00 requires preparation equal to the Apollo moon landing.

Old Billy was right..........from Rico
As the band "The Eagles" said...."old Billy was right" (kudos to William Shakespeare).
It seems the "ultimate" insider is skipping the toil, leaving us all in trouble, and seeing "bubbles"...
- Let me explain my unfortunate reference to Shakespeare's immortal play (bubble, bubble, toil & trouble).
Soros Fund Management has CUT it's exposure to equities over 42% from its position end-March to end-June. Very quietly, very not-in-public this was accomplished.
- Holdings in Petrobras, Walmart, and JP Morgan Chase and others are gone.
- The gold ETF [GLD] remains his largest position.
So?
- Georgie famously said recently that "gold was the ultimate bubble" while VERY publicly 'talking his book' in Davos to try and jawbone gold prices down while he was privately doubling-down on his gold position.
- Does the Bubble-meister now know something WE do not? Are stocks a 'bubble' that is ready to pop?
- He's NOT a stupid man, and I think he sees trouble ahead...

Paying for the funeral...........from Rico
We may be at the endpoint...the "endgame" of Keynesian Economics [read: Ponzi].
The "Diminishing Marginal Productivity of Debt" may not mean much to most...suffice it to say this is BAD NEWS writ large.
We all are going to have to pay for the funeral (thanks Congress), and adding insult to injury we'll have to live with the unhappy aftermath.

Unconventional Weaponry LXIX

LOLZ!
Oh the humanity!
Palestine's Holocaust Of The Week - created by Little Satan - revolves around the 7th century concept of 'honor" (note - 'honor' in a crunk and disorderly hood like Arab League seems to lie betwixt a grrl's legs).
Rowdy suspect rejectionist, intolerant Palestinians have been phot'd en flagrente (spiritually please) in a helpless, shamefully honor free, powerless sitch, while a hot! conscript voltiguerre ala femme exhibits total control and power.
Perhaps Little Satan should offer some of those new clear piggy ciggies or sexed up bubblegum in a fun, free exchange to snatch hot! intell on Palestine's Panty Police

Sixteen reasons why airplanes are easier to live with than women:
1) Airplanes usually kill you quickly – a woman takes her time.
2) Airplanes can be turned on by a flick of a switch.
3) Airplanes don’t get mad if you do a “touch and go.”
4) Airplanes don’t object to a pre-flight inspection.
5) Airplanes come with manuals to explain their operation.
6) Airplanes have strict weight and balance limitations.
7) Airplanes can be flown any time of the month.
8) Airplanes don’t come with in-laws.
9) Airplanes don’t care about how many other airplanes you’ve flown before.
10) Airplanes and pilots both arrive at the same time.
11) Airplanes don’t mind if you look at other airplanes.
12) Airplanes don’t mind if you buy airplane magazines.
13) Airplanes expect to be tied down.
14) Airplanes don’t comment on your piloting skills.
15) Airplanes don’t whine unless something is really wrong.
16) However, when airplanes go quiet, just like women, it’s usually not good

1954 Oldsmobile F-88 Convertible Concept Car
After spending decades as a collection of parts stuffed into wooden crates – the F-88 was reassembled.
In 1954 – the F-88 was a Motorama “Dream Car” and was one of only two – or an unconfirmed possible three ever created. The F-88 seen here is literally the only car left of its kind – and was sold to John and Maureen Hendricks at the prestigious Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona for an unbelievable $3,240,000. This acquisition made automotive history and is the “cornerstone” of the Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum in its own special room in a rotating display worthy of the F-88!

VBS TV: The Oregon Fire Lines Part 2
'In part 2 we take to the hills with shovel and chainsaw. The crew digs a fire line through the underbrush to demonstrate their technique for applying a proper choke-out on a forest fire. The guys even let Thomas play firefighter with a saw and pick axe, and explain why a good chainsaw wound to the body is one of the gnarliest things you’ll ever see.'

More "recovery" spin............from Rico
I listened to the "news" today that said: July's total housing starts were UP 1.7%. Swell. July's 546,000 housing starts were UP from June's 537,000. Happy days! Good news, eh?
We're getting better. Rejoice Comrades! This news is double-plus good!!!
The ONLY problem is it's a LIE!!
The 'official' number that was originally anounced was 549,000 last June. Had the number not been quietly 'revised' downward to 537,000 later, we would have had 'bad' news today of a DROP in housing starts. Only 3,000 units...but negative news is not allowed, so instead we have a minor INCREASE thanks to the magical mathematics of officialdom.
Along with neglecting to inform us of June's 'official' numbers versus July's 'official numbers, the mildly bothersome fact that the July 2009 number was [drumroll] 587,000 was ignored.
- Also ignored in magic unicorn land was the administration's 'expectation' that this July's number would be around 565,000. Oooooopsie!
Ya just gotta love the 'official' crap we're being fed on a regular basis these days.

'Israel Is a Bulwark. If Israel Wasn't There You Have No Idea How Much Evil Would Be Unleashed On the World'
That's a key quote from Pamela's lecture last night. She actually prefaced that by saying "You have no idea how much terrorism Israel absorbs" from the Middle East, thus providing the West with a bit of under-appreciated inoculation from Jihad. This was an extremely interesting point. I was really impressed with Robert Spencer's profound knowledge on the issues as well.
