Remember what Congress did for incandescent light bulbs? Yeah, they 'outlawed' them in favor of those expensive mercury-filled curly-q things you cannot see by. This was laughingly called the "Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007."
Remember what Congress just did for food? Yeah, they 'outlawed' private home gardens and non-GMO seeds with their hilarious "Food Safety Modernization Act."
Well, now they are going to do this for our coinage!!!!!
- Once upon a time, coins were made of gold, silver and copper. No kidding, I am NOT making this up!
Since no one anymore learns of Rome's decline in terms of its debasement of the silver content of the Roman Denarius...in no small part thanks to Jimmuh Carter's implementation of the Department of Education that has since ensured that graduates of government-run schools are as dumb as possible, putting sacks of wet hammers to shame BTW...we can expect (a) no one to have heard of, much less understand, the import of the "Coin Modernization, Oversight, and Continuity Act of 2010 (Public Law 111-302)" or (b) to notice that the US Mint has not sold one silver coin so far in March 2011.
- Our Gooberment is studying coinage materials based upon brass, steel, iron, or tungsten. Yay! Huzzah! Why not just 'outlaw' silver coins? Besides, we have all these prettily-engraved FRN's (Federal Reserve Notes) you can use instead! ....in your fireplace, or in the bathroom, for example!
